SOURCE: Please help: readout says "no memory space" but memory stick is empty!

When you copy pictures to your computer you still have the pictures on your camera so there is need to clean them up my reformatting memory stick.   This procedure will leave the memory stick clean and ready for a new set of pictures.  Here is how you reformat the memory stick-:

1.  Insert the memory stick to be cleaned/formatted in the camera

2.  Turn the MODE DIAL to the SETUP position on the camera

3.  Switch on the camera

4.  Select the MEMORY STICK TOOL from the CONTROL BUTTON

5.  Press the centre of the CONTROL BUTTON

6.  Select FORMAT by using the down arrow and up arrow

7. Choose OK by moving the right arrow button

8.  Finally press the centre of the CONTROL BUTTON and this will start reformatting the MEMORY STICK and it will ready for reuse.

Enjoy your new space in your Memory Stick!

This camera has both internal memory and allows use of Memory Stick Duo type cards. To format Memory Stick Duo, choose "Memory Stick Tool" and then "Format" from main camera menu, hit "Ok". Choose "Create REC Folder", hit "Ok".

SOURCE: Memory sticks empty and shows no memory available

i have a solution that worked! Notice: save all the needed data on your computer, because Formatting your Memory stick will wipe everything out!
if you have a Sony PSP, or know someone who does, replace the memory stick that says "no memory Space" in to the PSP port, go to "Settings" which is the left-most section of the PSP main screen, then scroll down to "System Settings," select it, Scroll down again to the "Format Memory Stick" selection and press "X" follow on-screen instructions and  SHAZAM!  its ready for action in your camera again!

MEMORY CARD SHOWING FULL BUT WHEN CAMERA CONNECTED TO DOWNLOAD TO LAPTOP OR DESKTOP ITS SHOWING FREE SPACE AND USED SPACE BUT NOT SHOWING ANY PICTURES AND VIDEOS,

Save the pictures and videos on the card. Try reformatting the card in the computer, and then again using the camera. The first reformat will ensure the card is empty, and then the camera reformat will ensure that it is recognized by the camera. If the camera reformat will not work, try a new card.

Hi

There is a bad news that the Memory stick is corrupted and you'll not be able to recover your pictures easily. However, you can try and check whether you are able to see it under control panel-> device management/computer management->click on storage option on left side-> now click on disk management sub menu-> check whether you can see any unknown drive or your memory stick.

If yes what is the status of the drive? If it doesn't show healthy then you'll need to format it by formatting it using right click on it and selecting format option.

Memory card only holds 5 pics

First make sure that the camera is able to recognise the card and is not defaulting to the internal memory only. Power off the Camera, then remove the additional card. Power on the camera, then power off the camera. Put the memory card back in the camera and then reformat it before using it. Fuji, Canon and other digital cameras do not like being used with memory expansions if they are not reformatted every time the pictures have filled the memory card or you choose to download them. Its like the memory is still allocated to something even though you cant see it. So a good practice is to reformat after every download. If the problem persists then try another card and if this still gives an error then you will have to get the camera serviced.

Pictures stored on card, and unable to retreive them on camera

Have you tried accessing the pictures via a card reader connected to your PC. It is possible the card is damaged and you will not be able to recover your pics. But it is worth a try. If you do not have a card reader take the card to a camera shop and see if they can see and manipulate the pics to another card, then reformat the card and reinsert it to see if it then reads anmd writes.

No memory space in internal memory-no more pictures can be taken!

there may be two problems. 1. Format your card before using it. 2. Switch your storage device to memory card and it will work. Hope it works..:))

Get the photos you want to keep off the card, and reformat it in the camera. Just deleting pics won't help. More than likely corrupted memory, and needs reformatting, Has worked for me several times.

! Card Error Message

I've had similar problem when I was messing around with the Sony memory stick. The cheap pins inside that suppose to touch the memory got screwed up. I just bought the camera so took it back to the store and got a different one. Anyway, try shining a flashlight into the memory slot and see how the pins are. If they are not line up then use a really small something to re-line them like they suppose to. See if it's possible to reformat the memory. That sometime help too. It happened to my sis cell phone. We had to reformat the memory stick to get it working right. I do not think this have anything to do with battery. If you don't put memory in and camera say "No memory" and with memory in and it read "Mem error" then likely the reader or the pins are screwed up. Goodluck.
