When this happened to me, I had to use the alen key tool that came with it to crank the garbage disposal from underneath the unit. You will feel the hole where the alen key fits into in the center of the bottom of the disposal. crank it back and forth a few times until it moves smoothly. then press the reset button. If that doesn't fix it you'll probably have to check the fusebox in your home.

It sounds like the garbage disposal has a fatal short, and the reset won't push in because there is an electrical failure inside the unit.

Garbage disposal is leaking

water is bot leaking at the reset button, it is let by it.The motor seal is defective allowing water to enter the housing.. Not much,if anything can be done at the consuner level except replacement of complete unit. Call insinkerator, It never hurts to try getting their help. Somtimes if the unit is not very old they WILL help.
