Hey, I had the same problem with blue and red lines and this post helped me bigtime ! Just adjust the color your having problems with. Best Solutionposted on Sep 12, 2006By maddogmic Rank: Not rated Rating: 100%, 1 votes I had the same problem with my sony KP-57ws500 rear projection tv. To solve this problem all you need is a flat and phillips screwdriver. Right below your speakers on the right and left side are tabs. Pull out the tabs and remove the screw on eachside. Once that is done remove the speaker cover and you will see a fiber board cover in the middle of the tv, there will most likley be twist ties holding some wires, to make it easier to work remove the ties. Now remove the screws on the fiber board and pull it off. You should see 3 adjustments on the top for focus, do not touch those. Below the focus adjustments on the

Our three year ol Samsung TV has dark horizontal lines across the top of bottom of the screen. It is getting worse

Welcome to fixYa!

When you see lines like these across your LCD, it indicates a problem with your monitor's electrolytic capacitors.A faulty filter capacitor in the power supply board (SMPS board) can cause horizontal lines across your monitor screen.Horizontal screen lines are one of the most visible problems I see in LCD monitors & TV's that are 3-7 years old. It can happen as much from heat, humidity & less-than-ideal operating conditions, as it can from fluctuating current supply or manufacturing defects.

The way to repair horizontal screen lines is by removing the capacitors from the printed circuit board (PCB) and testing them with a LCR meter.

If it shows zero, there's your confirmation that the specific capacitor needs to be replaced.

now if you can replace them your welcome but i wont suggest that , cause you may break it more....!

any ways do comment if it helped you in any manner!

I have red bars of different widths running horizontally across the screen.

Hi You have a ground loop problem. Rolling shaded bars are the classic sign of a ground loop. Your TV & AV gear are likely not on the same
ground level as the input cable line. The cable line is likely floating
to a different ground. But this is not hard to fix.

Picture is very blue, especially in dark scenes.

Sony TVs has an Optical Block issue. If there is an issue with the optical block, then there will be green, blue patches or tint on the TV display. Try resetting the TV to the factory settings and try Power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue still persists, then TV may require service. You can contact the Customer relations team and check for the available options. Sony had repaired free of cost for such issues. Hence, contact the customer relations.

Horizontal blue lines with a slight blue wash in the screen

Its because of Over Voltage of Screen (G2) to Blue CRT.
Take off front lower cover (speaker grill) and unscrew board. There you will need to find Focus Block mounted having 6 control knobs. 3 knobs are for Focus control and 3 are for Screen volts control. Find Blue Screen control knob and turn is Counter Click Wise slightly until bluish shade disappear on screen including few blue horizontal lines.
If you select AV input to adjust that will be fine as you do not need to wait for dark-scene.

This sounds like you may have bad picture tubes. Most likely the green and red tubes. You would have to have them replaced and realigned. I would call a Sony ASC and get an estimate to verify this. An onsite service call could verify if this is what's causing your problem.
