If you " \ " not work, type type ALT + 0 9 5 on keypad.
095 is ASCII code for " \ "

It really sounds like you need to do a backup of all your important files, then wipe the hard drive clean and re-install Windows. That is the simplest route for what you're needing. Being that you said the registry and everything is messed up, this is the route I would recommend. Any computer repair shop should do this task for you for no more than $60, if they charge more than that for a wipe and reinstall, then look for a different place, or do it yourself. I would also call your bank and have them do a chargeback for the $773.70 that you got robbed of. I did some digging on "Impex Support" and they seem like a super shady company.

I face the problem (any hard drive is not found) during windows server 2003 installation in IBM x3400 server machine

Hi,
Welcome to fixya.
You need Ibm Server Guide cd to do this job. Please find the link below
http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-5079561
Its an image file , so burn it into cd after download .
You can start installation by booting from the cd
Thanks

My computer opens but after some times blue screen with writings comes out saying: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time...

it's a long shot but you can try to boot into the recovery console it you have the original operating disks press the letter "R" for repair and go onto the recovery console and trying a "fixboot" command at the command prompt. this has worked for me about 25% of the time

How to find the server name

I will assume "server" is a domain controller running a dhcp server.

you need to type two commands.

command 1: ipconfig

This will tell you the ip address of the server (gateway)

command 2: ping -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ip address of the server/gateway)

adding -a to ping resolves the ip address back to the hostname.

Hope this helps!

Hi

The error message you are receiving "Inquiry command failed Using IBM-PC ServerRaid Host adapter" makes me think you are attaching the tape drive to the ServerRaid Controller, which is only for Hard Disks. There should be a normal SCSI interface for attaching tape drives, etc. It's possible that the ServerRaid card is a PCI (or older) plug in card, and the normal SCSI interface will be on the main motherboard. If you look on the IBM website for the Hardware Maintenance Manual, it should hopefully make things clearer.

The reason you may not be seeing the hard drives in CMOS, is because you will need to use the IBM ServerRaid Utility to view and configure the disks.

Backup server

Find the drives on the old server back them up via hard drive or cd/s etc get 2003 windows disc and load in onto new server, then copy over files from old server. Then use a program like nero back it up and have your new server copy all info to old server every week or day.

GOODLUCK!

Name of Command Interpreter

Do you have a autoexec.bat on the root directory on you server that has a path to C:\windows in it?

If it is there then reinstall the operating system. It has crashed. It's an old error message that was used when DOS was needed to be installed before loading windows.

Hi satti73,
I need you to explain your problem a little more clearly.
I think you are saying that when you press the ON/OFF you get a display? What is the display that you get? How old is this machine? What other events have taken place leading up to this problem. Do you get and error messages on the monitor? DO you get any sort of sound emitting from the server when you press the ON/OFF butoon?
