try turning ur webcam on and off a few times if that dont work reboot. if ur webcam still not working check for driver updates if updates r available install and reboot. if it still not working call the manufacturer.
probably this might cause by a conflicting windows update. i would suggest try to do a system restore first, restore it to the time when the webcam was working fine. after system restore if it works then i want you to disable the windows update from control panel. if this fails then proceed to uninstalling and resintalling the webcam driver.
Go to Control Panel --> Scanners and Cameras Wizard. In that u can find your webcam details there if u installed drivers of your webcam correctly. Then by clicking the icon there turns on your webcam. If u cant find any device there u need to install your webcam software. It is available with the CD which u get with your laptop at the time of purchase.
