Not sure what you mean by "on the top". The focus is usually a ring around the webcam lens itself, not on top. Can you tell us, please, exactly which webcam you have? The webcam may have some small print that identifies it, or look Control Panel / Device Manager / Imaging Device to see the brand and model number.
Restart the computer and see if the blue light comes back on by itself. If you are still having problems visit the Toshiba support site for your country (or region). Download the webcam application compatible with your version of Windows (32 bits, 64 bits) and reinstall the application. Test it using the Start>Toshiba>Utilities>Webcam Application, or the Face recognition software. You close the running application by clicking the x at the top right corner of the application window
The problem may be with the camera itself. It is asmall device that sits behind the screen bezel and is attached to the motherboard using a long flat cable. There are times that the cable itself maybe bad, or the plug on either end. It could be that the plug has come dislodged from the motherboard or the camera itself. To check to see if the cable or camera is bad, you will have to disassemble the laptop to get to both the mounting area behind the lcd bezel and the keyboard and palmrest to sccess the cable on the motherboard. The cable itself may need replacement. I have purchased several of these on Ebay with success.
if the webcam is a budget webcam and the picture looks ok when staying still but is blurry when moving, then there is nothing you can do, that is how the webcam is for the fact it is a budge, low price webcam
if the picture is blurry all the time, usually, around the lens, you can turn something to sharpen the picture up, eg, some cameras you turn the lens's basal itself and it move the lens back and forth changing the focus
Yes, just make sure its only Yahoo since you can't use your webcam on multiple applications at the same time. Only 1 at a time.
Try this and tell me what will happen..
1. Open your main Yahoo Messenger window
2. Click on Messenger on the Menu bar and click Preferences
3. Go to Webcam option and click Camera Source
4. Check if your webcam is listed - if it is, make sure its the one selected
Then try to check if you can start your webcam on YM. Goodluck!
How much memory do you have installed in your
computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause
of your computer freezing, rebooting, times out, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud
