Leak from tap at front of machine

The machine is leaking from the overflow tap at the front of the machine as soon as it is switched on. I have replaced the 3 part filter, but it continues to leak. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Actual macine is Premier Novo - W842

That was exactly the problem, unfortunately I only discovered this when the Miele technician turned; scared me with talk of expensive pumps which may be needed; then 30 seconds later said it was ok he had cleaned the filter housing with an old toothbrush and it was completely sorted.......Oh and could I pay him £96 please.

Hopefully others will benefit from your reply.

    Cheers

The filter may not be sitting right in its slot - an obstacle may be keeping the filter from being seated all the way - once the filter is fully seated, it blocks the water to the front tap

My dishwasher is leaking from the bottom of the front door. I can't seem to get to the drain filter. Can that be removed? I think there may be a clog in it.

If the leak is from the bottom of the front door than it is most likely the door seal. If the leak is from beneath the unit and appearing to leak out from the front there are many sources for the water.

Check the seal around the door. It may have some residue that has collected prohibiting the seal. The water in the machine actually sits in a tub. The seal on the door prohibits the water leaking as the spray arm rotates.

To test the door seal start the cycle and stop the unit as soon as the machine begins the spray cycle. Open the door and observe that the tub is full but still below the edge. Dry the seal around the door. Place colored paper towels or cloth beneath the door as close to the door seal as possible, Continue with the cycle and observe for water leaks. Stop allow the unit to sit a few seconds open door and observe the seal. You are looking for the location that it is leaking.

If you can confirm that the seal is leaking you can purchase replacement seals, On some models they can be easily replaced.

In my experience I have not seen a filter in the return line. If there is a blocked return hose the unit would not leak. The tub would remain filled after the cycle. There is an overflow switch that prohibits the tub from overfilling if the tub has not emptied between cycles.

Washer leaks

There is also a discharge lint filter on the front lower left that has to seal properly. If the water appears only when washing, you can probably eliminate leaking from the water supply side up to the solenoids controlling the water. The most likely source is a leak in the rubber section between the tub and the front door, a leak in the seal between the door and the washer, a leak or overflow in the soap dispenser, or a leak in the discharge side components. You could probably figure out the source if you could view these areas during a cycle, but that would require some disassembly of the cabinet so that you would need to know what you were doing.

Hi
You have had a water overflow or leak which has triggered your flood switch. You need to disconnect the machine and pull it out. Throw plenty of towls on the floor and tilt machine back to empty the water from the base.
Hard to say where the overflow or leak is from. You need to reconnect machine while it is out of cabinet and run the machine to see if you can pin point a leak. Sometimes a burst drain hose.
Otherwise the front and side panels may need to be removed as the leak may be internal.
Other time a faulty PCB, faulty inlet solenoid which sticks or a faulty pressure switch or clogged pressure hose are the reasons for machine overflowing. Bad door seals can also cause machine to leak.
Therefore, there are a raft of items which can cause machine to overflow or leak.

Samsung washer is leaking water from under the front of the machine. not from the door. the drain pump works.

after it leaks, place machine on its side, look for wet spot, may be popped off hose or leak at pump, or rarely cracked drum if plastic.

Awm8143 FA code

Service manual say FA is "aquastop failure- check aquastop switch", (aquastop switch is flood switch located in base of machine), however looking at the parts view of this machine, it doesn't seem to have a flood switch-odd.
F9 is an overflow problem- manual says to check pressure switch.
Both faults seem to indicate either a leak or overflow problem- remove rear panel and check base for any water, which would indicate a leak.
If OK, next step would be to remove front panel (remove wire and spring from around door seal, remove 2 screws holding door lock, remove 3 screws along base- front panel comes off by pulling down and out towards you-can be a bit tight)
Pressure switch is located just above door lock-it has the black tube going to it- remove tube and blow into switch-you should hear it click.
Also check the chamber that the other end of the tube connects to on the bottom front of tub- this chamber can get blocked up and cause overfill problems.
Please note- always disconnect from power supply before attempting any repairs. If in any doubt, best to leave for an expert.
Good luck!!
