Your belt is probably broken, or your motor is bad, the motor and belt not only turn the drum, but also the fan that moves air out of your dryer so if it cannot move, the dryer gets hot and it thinks this is because the lint trap is full

Most likely possibilities on heating problem. All are listed from most likely to least likely.

All parts can be tested with an ohm meter for continuity. Most parts are under $20 with exceptions for the heating element and ignitor. Considering that you had a technician come out to your house, charge would be roughly $120-200. A dryer's life span is usually about 10 years; give or take. For a diagram to locate all parts within your dryer, refer to www3.sears.com with the model number of your dryer. Model number found on the side panel when you open the door of the unit.
