SOURCE: I have a convection bread maker. I made one loaf

Cuisinart has many different bread machine models. Next time you ask a question, please include a model number. Thank you.

Here's my generic best advice for you dear:

Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues:

1. Unplug the breadmaker.

2. Confirm the power source you're accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc.

3. Plug the breadmaker in.

4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power:

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on toggle power switch. Turn it to the ON position.
    2. Some models confirm power by making and audible tone when plugged in.
    3. Some models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Some models require you press and hold the Select button down until the unit powers up.
    5. Some models require you press and hold the Start button down until the unit powers up.
    6. Some models require you select a mode first by pressing the Select button.
    7. Some models require you press and hold the Stop button down until the unit powers up.

Were you able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power?

No. Sorry to hear that. Attempt to have the breadmaker serviced by a small appliance repair facility or simply discard it.

Yes, Fantastic! Now reboot the breadmaker's electronics by pressing and holding down the Stop button down until you receive a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 1 to 5 seconds. Note: Some models require you press and hold the Start button. Others require you press and hold the Select button.

Often the + and - Timer Delay buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect the Timer Delay feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics.

All breadmaker use a belt and pulley system. If your breadmaker powers-up but the mixer won't turn when it's supposed to, your belt is probably broken. You'll need to disassemble the breadmaker to visually confirm.

If you have a B. Crocker bcf1690 machine you need to just plug it in and it will always default to the regular bread program. To change it to whole wheat you need to press the Menu button until the whole wheat program shows on the display ( #3) according to my manual if you go past it just keep pushing the menu button until it comes back around again to #3. then just push the start button.

We bought an ABM3500 bread machine at a yard sale & the motor won't turn to knead the bread even though you can hear it running.

Your drive belt is probably broken or has slipped off. Unplug your machine and turn it on its side (remove the pan and paddle first) and remove the bottom panel with a screwdriver. Most bread machines have a removable panel. Hopefully yours is one of those. You will then be able to see if the belt is broken or has slipped off. You can reach me at breadmachineshelp.com for reinstall or replacement of your belt. If your belt has a number code on it I will need that. It will look something like this: STS 60 S3M471 If it has no code on it I still may be able to figure out the belt you need. Again, reach me at my website: breadmachineshelp.com

Won't knead dough

Chances are that your drive belt is broken. With the pan and paddle removed from the oven and your machine unplugged turn it on its side so the bottom is facing you. Hopefully it has one of the removable metal panels on the bottom. If it does, remove that panel using a screwdriver. When the panel is off see if the drive belt that runs between the 2 pulley wheels is broken. If it is broken remove the old belt and look for a number on the side of the belt that looks something like this STS 60 S3M471 I sell replacement belts for bread machines. Contact me through my website breadmachineshelp.com if you are interested in replacing your drive belt. Thanks, Daryl

My bread maker stopped working, it does not knead, but the timer seems to work

Hi Liz, don't throw it out yet. You may just have a broken or thrown drive belt. Most bread machines have a removable panel on the bottom of the machine. With your machine unplugge turn it on its side and using a screwdriver remove the bottom panel. You will see a belt running between a large pulley and a small one. Let me know if the belt that runs between the 2 pulleys has slipped off or is broken. We'll go from there. Bye for now!

I have an American Harvest Bread Classic II. It sounds like it is working but the paddle doesn't spin. I can manually make it move and the drive shaft I can manually move, but it won't do it on...

your belt has probably broken, unplug your machine and turn it on its side and try to remove the bottom panel. Usually held on my phillips head screws. If your belt has snapped then you will need to replace it. I have never heard of American Harvest machines so it might be difficult to find a replacement. I have good used machines for sale if you are interested. My email is daryl441@msn.com

Some bread machines warm up before the kneading process begins especially on whole wheat cycles. If your machine hasn't started kneading after about 1/2 hour then you do have a problem but, give it time before you give up on it....
