Problem with the touch screen on my Garmin Nuvi 350
I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 350 right around Thanksgiving last year (Nov. 2007). Just recently the touch screen has started having issues. If you try to enter an address or spell the name of a location, the right side of the screen does not accept the character that you push. For instance, if I push the letter "M", it enters the letter "N". If I push the letter "L", it enters the letter "M". I have tried resetting it, but it still does the same thing. I believe that it should still be under warranty - it was purchased from Circuit City. The serial number is 107615939. Please let me know what I need to do as soon as possible. I will be going on a trip in late Nov. for Thanksgiving, so would like to have the issue resolved prior to my trip.
I also contacted Circuit City and they advised that it is past their 30-day warranty, but should still be covered until the Garmin 1-year warranty.

First try pressing the reset button under the antenna (raise the antenna first) if that has no result thentry holding your finger on the upper right corner of the nuvi's screen while turning on the nuvi. Keep your finger pressed until the popup window appears. Touch Yes to clear all user data. All original settings are restored.Your recent selections and audible bookmarks are also deleted.
2:Touch the tools icon on the main screen. The tools icon is represented by a wrench surrounded by a blue circle.
3:Touch the "Settings" icon which appears as a wrench.
4:Push the "Restore" button at the bottom of the screen. A confirmation message will appear asking to confirm restoring the Nuvi to factory settings. Push yes to restore the factory settings ............................................................................................ Try this for hard reset .
Turn off Garmin device. Press down on bottom right corner of the touchscreen [ Don't let go ] , and then power on the GPS unit. You should be prompted whether do you really want to erase all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press “Yes” to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.
Turn the unit off. Press and hold down the power button and keep holding it. You will see the screen light up and it will say "pre-boot mode". Keep holding down the power key. It will then say "booting". Keep holding the power button down. You'll then come to the calibation screen. Select the dots and you'll be back in business.
I have the same problem with my Nuvi 350. It's only about 2 months old and the sound went. I turned it on the other day to use it and the sound did not sound right, it sounded like the speaker was blown. I turned it off and turned it back on and that was it, the sound was gone. I did everything possible and can't get the sound to come back. I called Garmin and now I have to send it in for repair. I looked around the web and noticed that Garmins have big issues with the sound going on the units. I hope they fix that issue.
