Question about Dell 5100cn Laser Printer
I have a Dell 5100cn (out of warranty) that is having a problem with paper not stacking properly in the top output tray. It appears that occassionally the bottom of the previous page has not dropped onto the stack and the top of the next page hits it, pushing it out of the tray. Could this be a problem with the rollers ? If so, what part #'s can I replace to fix this?
I am attaching a photo for reference of the outer duplexer assembly of the 5100 printer.
This the area just to the right of the yellow arrow is what moves the paper from the exit of the fuser to the top output bin. ( it also brings the paper back in when duplexing ).
Those are the rollers that I believe you are questioning, however, this unit is an assembly, and those rollers are not replaceable.
I can tell you however, that I have never had a situation that required those rollers to be changed.
What I would suggest is that you clean the rollers with a lint free cloth and rubbing alcohol.
Also check the printer while printing and try to observe that it is not actually the front edge of the paper coming out getting hung up on something ( even a small bur on the plastic ) that may be preventing it from exiting all the way.
