Question about Tricity Bendix Dishwashers

Open Question

Tricity bendix Dishwasher - model number TBDW41 - integrated - 4 years old

My dishwasher isn't working correctly. You turn the dial on any programme, then push the on button, then close the door and it should work as it has normally up until yesterday. It sounds as if it is working - you can hear the pump but there is no water? Bear in mind that this has just happened on its own, I have not turned water supplies off or anything like that, it has just stopped supplying water. Therefore after say.....2 or 3 minutes - there is no more pump noise and nothing else happens.
Your assistance will be very gratefully received. Thank you.

Sounds like you already know how to fix it. The inlet valve is only held closed by water pressure...if you have low water pressure it could be causing this. Its more likely just a bad fill valve though. The water inlet valve is accessed by removinf the lower kickplate and the sheild behind that. Then all you have to do is remove the water line from the valve, remove the 2 screws holding it and pull it out far enough to disconnect the 2(possibly 3) wires and the fill hose. Make sure to mark where your wires go, if you hook it up wrong it could continue to fill and overflow. Hope this helps!

This is a typical GE problem which I have seen many times...When a DW sets for a while not being used...the motor often freezes up....Take the front (lower panel off....find the motor assembly...(with the DW unplugged!!...very important)reach in with you hand or a screw driver...preferably your hand...at the back of the motor...there should be a impeller blade...you should be able to reach in with a finger and pull it down..it may be resistant so find a way to hold it in place as you reach up to the next impller blade and pull down further...finally it will all of a sudden free up....after which you plug it back in and start it up...I am also including a step by step (no drain problem check list as you may run into an issue like this if it has not been operated for a while ....notice article # 5).

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

I hope this helps...it is always useful to include the Model #...more specific instructions can then be provided

Good Luck and good day.....please rate my effort...the Fang

IF this unit mounts under a counter you should take it out of the space under the counter so that you can see the top of the outside to see if there are any mounting bolts for the spray arm.

Hi I have a Tricity Bendix dishwasher model DH090. Light comes on, starts up, tablet even drops out of the holder but then the dial stops, nothing else happens. It doesn't matter which of the four...

My wife discovered the solution to this problem.
If you place large plates at the front then the flap with the cleaning tab can't open. So only place small plates at the front of the Dishwasher.

How do i change the heater element on a tbdw41 please? I have the replacement part, i just need to get into the machine to unscrew the element at the contacts?

You have to remove the rear cover and the base cover inside the machine to reveal and access the element. Just make sure that the unit unplugged from the power outlet before attempting any work.

Tricity bendix dh101 wont empty trying to but only a trickle was working ok no kinks in extract pipe

Check the drain hose and the drain lines, if you find no obstructions, then you have a defective drain pump.

If you find no problem with the drain lines, you may need to replace the pump.

If you enter model number here , you can find parts and diagrams.

My Tricity Bendix won't work

Check out the water inlet solenoid valve if this is clicking then it is probably the water level pressure switch which appears to be controling the flow of water mechanicaly dependent on whether the water is high enough in the machine and therefore giving enough pressure to close the switch .This may be stuck closed.

Tricity bendix keeps turning off !!

assuming you still have power to machine, it could be that the main circulating pump has a thermal overload in it which is tripping off. can you give me more detail?
