the lx 3125 has a front loading bobbin case which must be removed by pulling the latch on the bobbin case and thereby pulling the bobbin case from the shuttle.

once you have the bobbin case in your hand, let go of the latch and the bobbin will drop out of the case. you can now wind the bobbin or replace it with a wound bobbin - make sure that the bobbin thread is threaded down the slot in the case and behind the tension spring, also the bobbin should turn clockwise when you pull the bobbin thread when loking at the bobbin in the case.

SOURCE: My Brother LX 3125 does not sew zig zag stitches

Mine did the same thing. The needle is probably to high. Do not insert the needle all the way to the top. Lower it a bit and it should zig zag!

SOURCE: hi, My sewing mechine is brother

Most likely your machine is not threaded right, read your manual closely and double check yourself. Rethread your machine, no mixed thread use same weight, color does not matter but weight does. With your presser foot down, your top thread should be had to pull, with it up it should pull freely. Make sure your bobbin is wound evenly, and on a fresh bobbin. Then put in a new needle. Now, if the machine is still acting up, it may be your timing. You can call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 customer support. if you need a manual, go to www.brother-usa.com. I am answering this for free just to try to help you. Good luck

SOURCE: My needle does not stay threaded on my Brother Lx

keep a thread tail of 3-5 inches & when you sew make sure the thread is pulled behind the needle each time you sew, even if you have to hold the thread tail with your fingers

How to oil lx-3125

Your owner's manual should have instructions. Download the manual here and then enlarge the picture on your computer screen to see it better. I believe it shows to put a drop of oil and spread it around the outside edge of the hook (see pg.41 for picture of the hook). Then there are five spots to put a drop of oil on the take-up lever and needle bar (pg.39). Basically, they are spots where the metal parts rub against other metal parts. Gently rotate your handwheel toward you and watch where things move and apply a drop of oil. The last spot is where the needlebar rubs when you raise the presser foot. Here's a manual to download:
