How to turn down based station ringer in a Uniden DECT1480

The base station on the Uniden DECT1480 has an answering system and a separate ringer from the handsets. Have been unable to determine if the loud ringer on the base station can be turned off or at least down.

SOURCE: tru9466 base and tru9465-2 handset

You need to simultaneously hold down the red hangup and # buttons for about five seconds or until the handset says de-registered. You can then put the handset into the base unit and it will registere.

I had this problem myself on two Uniden TCX905 phones and that was the solution. I couldn't find it in the manual but verified it with Uniden support.

SOURCE: Uniden handset TCX905 with base unit TRU8866-if compatible?

Forget what I said before, the TCX905 does NOT fit into the TRU 8866 base unit with the battery cover on.

REMOVE THE BATTERY COVER TO REGISTER THE TCX905 WITH THE TRU8866 and everything works fine....

SOURCE: Uniden DSS7855+1, flashing ''welcome! please wait...'', wont work

This is not a direct solution to your problem, but a workaround for a similar situation. I have two headsets and two charging stations. One of the headsets was stuck with the message ''Welcome! please wait''. When I put the phone on the charging station it usually sits on nothing would happen, but when I put it on the other station the phone came back to life. The non-working charging station will still charge the phone so it is worth keeping.

SOURCE: Handset won't connect to base unit

Try placing the handset in the base unit to register it. Then see if it is found by the base.

When answering mode is on I do not want to hear the ringing(4x) tones before going to answering.I've switched off the 'call screen' option. still I hear the ringing although not recording at least.

Just set the ringing volume to off.
You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high) separately on each handset or the base.
With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according to their individual settings

Call waiting is a service offered by your telephone company, not a feature of any particular phone. To learn how to use it, contact your telephone company for their instructions.

How to turn volumn on ringer up also put in the dates & time

To change the ringer volume, while in standby mode (not on a call, not doing anything in a menu, etc) press Up(+) or Down(-) on the base or press up or down on the circular cursor pad on the handset.

The date and time should be set automatically the first time an identified call comes through. If you need to change it, press MENU/SELECT on the handset then select "Day & Time". Select the day of week, then use the number keypad to enter the hour and minutes in HHMM format (e.g., enter 0345 for 3:45). Then, select AM or PM.

The base ringer on my Uniden TRU9480 base station rings very loud and cannot find where to either adjust or discontinue the ringer. Jackgee1

I found my owners manual and to adjust the ringer on either the Base Station or Hand Set as follows:
with the hand set in place just use the base arrow up or down to go from 0 (off) to 2 (loud) and on the hand set just use the arrows for high low or off. Just bew sure to have the hand set on the base before adjusting the ringer
