Question about Intel D845GLLY Motherboard

1 Answer

NO Display, POST or speaker beep

I have been using D845GLLY with 1.7 Mhtz, 512 RAM for few years but for the last some days, whenever I try to start it, the LED on Mobo starts lit, cpu fan also starts but no POST or display at all and no speaker beep!, strange thing is that when I keep trying to start it for 2-3 days it suddenly starts working normally! and if you start it or shut and restart many times it works all fine and normally, but when try to start in next day same thing happens NO Display etc. etc. and on keep trying in 2-3 days starts again!

I have re-seted the bios many many times, changed the RAMS, re-inserted the processor, replaced the power supply and switches but still the same result sometimes it starts and many times not, there is nothing loose or broken on board. I have also tried with minimum attachments to board, means no LAN cards or NO drives etc

When it is working it is 100% perfact and when not working then the output is zero!

Could you please help to resolve this strange problem!

Many thanks and kind regards,

I have not get display due to mother board no access the RAM. and i have check the mother board without install RAM and i did not get any beep/sound plz tell me what is the problem and how i can solved...

This motherboard has an on-board video card and it uses shared RAM. The video uses part of the main RAM and if there is no RAM modules installed then you will not get any display or POST beep codes.

Ram beep but no display bios jumper is clear stat bios jumper is normal then no start machine

Please see this as reference

Continuous long beeps-RAM error
2 short beeps- BIOS error
1 long and 8 short beeps- Display Card error
1 long beep after few seconds 2 short beeps-FDC error
1 long beep after few seconds 1 short beeps-FDC is Ok
1 long beep and 2 short beeps-Display Card Error

Most probable cause is Ram memory, please try removing modules and reinserting, also try using alternately just one of them to determine which one is defective.

I have Intel Desktop D845GLLY motherboard, recently it has no display and when power is on it gives three beep. I have a intel board that was running find until i upgraded memory and changed the dvd...

The three beeps tells you that something inside the system is not properly installed. Check all hardware installations and position properly all hardware not properly installed. If nothing is improperly installed, try cleaning the RAM with a piece of clean cloth and install properly.

Problems with 3 brand new PC 133 512 MB RAM in Netvista 6794

That last RAM probably is good. Many motherboards have problems using many different memory. All of the memory you have should be at least identical to ensure that they work. When RAM run at different speed or require a little more voltage, they will not let your motherboard boot. You can try mixing up the order you put the RAM in. Try putting the last RAM in the first slot by itself, the motherboard should boot. Then try the rest.

Also, whenever you add or change hardwares, you should clear the CMOS/BIOS settings.

How to recognize the dameaged IC with analog meter

It is hard to tell. You need at least an oscilloscope, and understanding of digital electronics. When chips go bad they usually quit oscillating. An easy way to find out it is oscillating is by using a multimeter, and checking the frequency of the output, and the input pins. This test will not tell other problem with the chip tho. It will only tell if the chip is completely bad.

Problems with Foxconn 6100K8MA-RS Motherboard memory upgrade

This is an oldtime POST code memory error. Likely that ram is either installed wrong, bad RAM or the mobo doesn't like one of the memory sticks.

You must count the beeps.

Intel 82845G/GL motherboard running on 256+128 (384) RAM. I want to upgrade RAM to 1 GB (2*512) but it is unable todetect and give 3 beep sound.

One or both of the new RAM modules is incompatible, defective or not inserted properly. Try one at a time also verify your board supports 1GB and the type of RAM you are using.

No boot up, display, beep, or HD action

I am having the same issue. Clearing/reset the bios will get the board to boot up, but when turned off and started again the board will not boot. you will have to clear the bios again. The board seems to be rebooting itself continuously before it evens get to the POST.
