Question about Philips Desktop 9750 Desktop Digital Transcriber / Recorder

1 Answer

Philips 9750 transcription

We have recently gone digital using the above machines. however, the software Speech Exec Pro Dictate v5.0 does not seem to allow us to load tasks on to the machines, only vice versa. I personally do not have the software loaded (my manager has it but doesnt understand it!!!). We have footpedals and headsets with jack ends on them to fit in the back of the machines. My manager feels that she needs footpedals with USB ends to plug directly into the back of the computer. We are currently only able to use the transcription by inserting the memory card into the top of the machine but this holds up the handsets whilst waiting for our typing.

Can you advise if there is a way to upload dictation to the PC and then a means of pulling it back for transcription as and when we choose.

Many thanks.

Just hit the download button to download. Then to upload, select the file or files in the software, and drag to the dpm at the lower left. The 9750 will need to be in the download mode by pushing download first.

Olympus DSS Player Pro Woes!

Could it be that the files are just being regularly accessed by one of the server admin tools and the DSS Player application interprets an open file as 'being transcribed'

What happens when a copy of a .DSS file is made to an operators machine and then loaded locally for transcription?

Our Philips Desktop 9750 is not responding on entering card

The 9750 accepts up to a 1 gig card as long as the firmware is up to date. Latest firmware is available at dictation.philips.com.
Also, I have seen some 1 gig cards that are not formatted properly.
If you are indicating there is no power at all, check the power cord.

Convert ds2 file to dss

Best option is to get the person using the recorder which creates the .ds2 files, which is likely to be an Olympus DS-5000, to set the recorder to record audio in "classic mode" which will produce .dss files. Here is a YouTube video on how to set the DS-5000 to record in classic mode.
