SOURCE: Surfacemax 300 yellow eureka vac.

On the top yellow part above the rollerbrush, there are two screws. Take them out. Insert your fingernail into the part where the yellow meets the rubber and lift. The yellow should pop off. Follow the directions printed on the label inside, directly above the rollerbrush to change the belt.

Your vacuum SHOULD have come with a replacement belt as well as an instruction guide. The instructions for replacing the belt are there. If you don't have this, well, that's why I typed this out. :) You can purchase a belt on eureka.com by looking under customer service, and putting in your model number. This is located on the label on the back of the vacuum, under where the cord goes through that loop thing.

SOURCE: my eureka surfacemax 300 is not sucking up

I've found that some times if you let the cup get too full, stuff will get jammed up above it. Turn off the vacuum and unplug it, and remove the cup. Reach up inside the vacuum above the cup and there is a small, plastic cylinder you can twist to remove (twist and pull down). clean this plastic piece off, and reach up inside where it was located. Clean out that crevice as well. Vacuum should be as good as new!

(It shuts off because it is over heating from not being able to pull anything through there.)

Smells hot when running and will not pick up debris I recently cleaned all filters

Something is stuck in the piping system. The passing vacuum air is used to cool the motor. It's not getting that air so it will start to over heat and smell

My son vacuumed up water. I am trying to open up the cannister & dry out, but am unable to get at all the screws. Is there a manual available that would show how to get at all the screw locations?

you will need a flat screwdriver and a little patience to get to the screws.

you will want to remove both the switch cover and the cord retract cover to get to the screws. once you have done that, you can get into the motor chamber area and dry that unit out.

Good luck,
Mark

How much water should I put in Eureka model 300 steamer

Use 12 ounces of water.
It's best not to use extremely hard water in the Eureka steamer due to mineral deposits it may leave behind.
If you need cloths for your Eureka 300 or 310/311/313A see my listings on eBay by searching "eureka steamer."
This is a great floor cleaning machine. I have several for use on large areas of linoleum and sealed hardwood in our home.
