Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The bar on the bottom of the display screen indicates there is progress. There is no other sounds, cleaning heads or ink refilling. It's in this state for about 5-6 sec. The display freezes, goes dim, the power light goes off, the red exclamation button alights, then the whole thing begins again.
Most probably caused by a power supply failure or main board short. Either way it is not a repairable fault.

The Formatter board (main logic board) is faulty. You need to take the printer in for repairs to HP, in my experience though it usually works out better to replace the printer.

Testimonial: "Thanks for your expertise. It's shameful though, because I have recently bought new cartridges. New printer means new cartridges."
