Question about British Telecom Synergy 2110 Cordless Phone

1 Answer

Loosing Signal I have bought a second hand system from ebay. At first the phone worked brilliantly but without the answerphone switched on. When I activated the answer phone I found the signal would be lost and the phone would spend days searching. I have switched off the answer phone service which corrected the problem for a while however, it has returned. The phone will charge fully. When the phone searches for a signal it will also charge all handsets at the same time. Is it simply new batteries for all handsets? Or something blocking the signal? It is not the telephone line as I kept a phone plugged into a point and this works while the BT phone doesn't. Please advise. Helen

Re: Loosing Signal

How many extensions do you have ? and do you have broadband (adsl) ? sometime's this could be just down to the phone line - if you have broadband (adsl) there has to be a filter pluged in on all other extensions, do know i'm guessing let me know this could be your problem as the filter is blocking the signal or interfering.

How to use the answerphone

The model number of a cordless phone can usually
be found on a small sticker underneath the battery
in the handset (eg, CS6229, D1680, etc.).

Take this model number to
to download a free copy of the User's Manual.

Good luck!

This is a system manager function. Whoever supports your phone system has the ability to change this. This is not a user function.

You directed this question at me, but unfortunately I'm unable to provide you with a "real" solution at this time. FixYa has informed me that by providing you with this "solution" your question will then be made visible to other experts; hopefully one of them will be able to provide you with a real solution.
It also might help if you could specify the make and model of your phone.

Why won't my answerphone work properly?

Either you must set your home answering machine to answer on fewer rings OR disable the phone company's message system.

We have an se445 cordless phone/answerphone. with answerphone on, the line rings 4 times then stops briefly before continuing to ring instead of cutting onto answerphone. BT line has been checked and gain...

Regarding the Philips SE445 cordless phone/answerphone. I posted my problem where it rings 4 times then continues to ring without cutting into the answerphone. My phone is now fixed and working as it should which is great. I was unable to make calls because I had no dial tone and although Virgin checked my line and said it was fine, it obviously wasn't. The problem was with the line in the Exchange Box - the big green boxes that are located on the roadside - the line was broken there. Once fixed, I had my dial tone and the SE445 is working perfectly. To nomad1066, I would insist that BT check their Exchange Boxes as this is probably where the problem lies. Check whether you have a dial tone. Hope this helps.

    Online manual

Hi - took me ages to work out without the manual, but when you're in the answerphone menu (described above), press 9 (record OGM) then either 1 or 2 (1 for OGM 1 and 2 for OGM2), speak your message, then press 5 (stop), the message will automatically replay, then you're sorted
