Electrolux EWD1477 E51

Electrolux ewd1477 is displaying an E51 Error Message. No wash cycles work. Problem occured after a recent black out. We believe the main fuse or similar has short circuited and we need confirmation of this prior to booking a technician to come and fix it because the machine is out of warranty and the technician is expensive, charging us in 15 minute blocks to service the machine.

SOURCE: Electrolux EWD1477 washer dryer combo

Hi
Electrolux appliances are well known for their quality and style and feature a simple user interface that alerts you to a malfunction within the machine. When the machine's memory detects a problem, an error code appears in the display screen. Each code corresponds to a specific part and remains displayed as long as that part is not working. Most issues are easily fixed, but if the error code persists, contact a service center for a more in-depth repair.
The E40 error code indicates that the machine senses that the door is open. Ensure the door is securely closed. If the code persists, open the door, see that no clothing is interfering with the door latch and reclose the door. If the code remains displayed, there is possibly a problem with either the door sensor or the door latch itself. Attempting to replace these parts yourself can invalidate your warranty, so contact a service center for repairs.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
Thank you for contacting fixya.com

Hi my Electrolux EWF1074 isn't working. The timer is counting down but there is no water in the machine. I tried resetting it but it didn't work. Could someone please help me. Regards Matt.

Rapid reading of alarms:

Press the START/PAUSE button and the nearest option button (4) simultaneously for at least 2 seconds: the LEDs initially switch off, and then display the flashing sequence indicating the last alarm.

ewf1074-2rgnvy5j4oifscmshudmmeh4-3-0.jpg After reading error code (look display) will be a lot clearer in which phase of the washing cycle has occurred or is happening malfunction.

New washing machine (electronic) compared to the old models (electromechanical) consume much less water, so it looks that your washing machine is working properly, otherwise it would be stopped. This will be confirmed if the display show E00 which means there is no any malfunction. Any other error code, for exp. E10,E20,E30, E40, E50...... means some malfunction.

What do error codes E51, E52, and E53 indicate?

This link lists the error codes for your cooktop: Needapplianceparts com

Specifically, it's a "sensor break" in your front and center burners.
The solutions they recommend:
* Verify element temperature sensor is correctly connected to the generator circuit board
* Replace element if temperature sensor resistor value is not approximately 1000 ohms (blue wires) at room temperature
* Replace associated generator circuit board

See if there is something wrong with the pump or there may be something stick to the pump. This is why it does not do the full circle.

Electrolux front loader washer ewd1477 flashing start/pause button. interrupted during wash cycle by power outage. start/pause button now flashes and won't start any cycle.

Try to turn circuit breaker off, or unplug unit, for about 5-6 minutes. This is a hard reset and should reset the internal controls to restart the unit properly.

I have an Electrolux EWD1477. I have been away for four months and I'm having problems with it. I set to do the quickwash30 program and press start, you hear the clicks, it might put some water in then...

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

Same Problem.. not able to find the lint filter on EWD1477

Lou, thanks for your answer, but I think that the original question is to do with the 'mysterious lint trap' that is mentioned in the manual but isnt actually a part of the machine (ie, its a typo / incorrectly edited manual - copied from another model)

The thing we are trying to find is the lint trap for the condenser unit, which is not the same as the drain pump/filter/trap on the bottom right of the unit (or, at least, shouldn't be - if it existed).

I think this model has a specially designed condenser unit that somehow cleans itself from the action of the washing clothes (in your next run), and flushes the lint from any previous drying cycles away with the rinse water during the next wash.

To help keep things clean, you could try to dissolve or at least break up any gunk buildup inside your machine (likely if your not using the 95 degrees C wash temp setting) by using lots of concentrated bleach (at max temp). However, this could damage the machine, but in my experience it is OK. I am not a employee of electrolux nor am I a service person :)
