SOURCE: front cv joint lubrication

you do not lube them they are full of grease.if boot tears and splatters the grease out then you replace boot or anymore just as cheap to replace axle. Some lube centers try and sell a lube service on these where they poke a hole in your boot and pump grease in them. This is a no no as it causes your joint to start leaking

SOURCE: lubrication and maintenance reciprocal saw DeWalt

Before you attempt any of this I would recommend going to and see what the inside of this tool looks like. It appears that you need to remove part of the front gearcase to get into the lube. The back e.g. brushes is not that big of a deal. If there is a Service Center near you they have a Max repair rate that they will fix anything on this saw at a preset firm price and if it is less that is what they would charge.

There are no grease fittings on your Buick. Most manufactures started using sealed joints in the early to mid 90s. If a joint is making noise it will have to be replaced.

Oil changes are all you need to do for engine lubrication. 10w40 motor oil is what goes into the gearbox. NEVER use synthetic lubricants in the engine. Thay can mess up the clutch. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Overheating 18 hp

Im not sure how this applies to the "Measuring tools" category but it could be caused by a restricted exhaust or poor lubrication. I use nothing but premium oils such is Echo, Stihl, Amsoil and Lucas in my equipment. They run great, never gum up and never let me down.

When i came to used my camera, i found that when i looked through the viewfinder the image was blurred, when i take a photo the photo is black. in need of a solution

Sometimes cameras that have been stored for a long time can experience stuck or sticky shutters. This is caused by lubrication oil residue building up on the shutter from non-movement over this extended period of time. But this can sometimes be easily fixed, without even opening the camera. To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.
If you do succeed in opening the shutter, remember to conduct the post-fix multiple continuous shutter shots to lubricate the shutter.

Your transmission fluid is dangerously low (tranny is dry). The pops & jerks are the transmission
internal components trying not to seize onto each other due to lack of lubrication and/or overheating.
Low transmission fluid leads not only to loss of lubrication but lots of overheating (of the tranny).
The loss of Elantra performance (speed tops out at 55), is caused by power loss due to friction inside the transmission. All your power is lost overheating the transmission (toward destruction), instead of
being transmitted through the transmission to the wheels.

The 2004 Elantra takes Hyundai SP-III Automatic Transmission Fluid, with 8.4 quarts used in a
total refill - but just 5 quarts at a fluid change. For How-to transmission fluid change instructions: claims that 2004 Hyundai Elantra can take these non-Hyundai ATF's:
Lucas Semi-Synthetic Multivehicle ATF
Pennzoil Muilt Vehicle ATF
Valvoline Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF
Castrol High Mileage ATF

My heads on the xm1 seem to be dirty, ive used a sony cleaning tape, it only makes a difference for an hr or two taping, any sugestions

Hi there,

Firstly, I must explain how the MiniDV system works:

Although this may sound illogical, MiniDV camcorder heads do actually use a type of lubrication cassette system and there are 2 types:

- DRY lubrication (Canon, Panasonic, JVC etc)
- WET lubrication (Sony)

Now, if you haven't noticed already from the above 2 types, you are in fact using the WRONG type of cassette on your camcorder.

Although Sony cassettes are often readily available (and often perceived to be the best quality), by using Sony cassettes on a Canon camcorder (or Pana, JVC for that matter), you are in fact causing premature wear on the heads. So, the condition you are describing as 'dirty' heads, is in fact caused by the use of the wrong (wet type) cassettes on your DRY type camcorder.

Using "WET" type cassettes on a DRY system camcorder, can often leave residue on your heads, or worse....cause wear. The same principle applies to Sony camcorders - use only Sony 'WET' type cassettes, not Dry cassettes.

This also applies when using HEAD CLEANER cassettes - as indicated, you have used a Sony Head Cleaner cassette (this is a WET type cassette), when in fact, you should be using a DRY HEAD CLEANER cassette (Pana, Canon etc).

CAUTION: when using a head cleaner cassette, only playback the cassette for no more than 6 sec's at a time (anymore will damage the heads).

For your Canon camcorder, use only DRY MiniDV cassettes (Pana offer cassettes from Studio, Professional to Master Quality), including DRY Head Cleaner cassette. This should improve the playback quality from your camcorder.

Shutter appears to be stationary in closed position. Bulb works, no light through the lens. Hasn't been used for at least 10 years. Was in working order when stored. Storage not climate controlled - got up...

After 10 years of non-use, the lubrication in the camera would have gummed up to the point you are at right now. Your camera and lens needs a cleaning and lubrication by an experienced service tech.

The cap on top with the bulb, screws off. Use bar oil. Give the bulb a pump every 30 seconds of operation or so. This will keep your chain and bar lubricated.
