Question about Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 Notebook

1 Answer

Backlit keyboard doesn't light

I've turned it on using Toshiba Assist and then in BIOS. It stopped working when I brought it to get repaired (rootkit issue). Repair shop says they didn't open up the computer or change any hardware, just antivirus stuff.

Toshiba Satellite 1905-S303 keyboard and touchpad mouse will not work

Hi TiKLe
Try to go into the "safe mode" by pressing repeatdly F1,or F2 or F8 (depending on your computer) and reinstall your keyboard/touchpad drivers from the Toshiba website below.
If that does not work, then try downloading the drivers on a thumb/flash drive on a different computer and go into the safe mode on your computer and insert the flash/thumb drive in and download the drivers for your computer that way.
Go to the following webpage and download your drivers.

The drivers for the hardware don't exist for windows 8. You need to format. turn on holding the 0 key. follow steps to set to factory defaults, save your pictures and documents first cause this will erase them.

The backlit keyboard on the CF-U1 is set to on by default from the factory. To turn the backlight on and off the key combination is Fn + Z.

BACKLITE WON'T STAY ON

You can only change the back light level in the BIOS. Boot the computer and press F2 immediately. Once you are in the BIOS, set the back light level you want, then save and exit. When the computer comes back up, that will be your back light level.
