Question about Estate TAWS800JQ Top Load Washer

Water won't shut off on my Estate washer

The water continues to run even if I shut the machine down completely. It goes through the cycles if I turn the water off and on as needed. I even shut the machine off and the water still ran. I was wondering if this is something I could fix myself

Check clear tube that is inside machine.1st take off shell of machine look for clear tube about 1/4 inch diameter.it sometimes comes off,it pushes over nipple to load size water fill knob.if it came off the water will keep on flowing and over flow.if that's the problem just put a dab of silicon on nipple and push tube back on.

SOURCE: The estate washer won't spin and the part

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Yes if the lid switch is broken the unit wont spin. Here is how to replace the switch.
1. UNPLUG THE WASHER
2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws from each side of the rear corners of the console. NOTE: On some latest models there are no screws (big saving for Whirlpool). Instead there is a console clip on each side of the console which should be carefully released by inserting a putty knife under the console from the front on each side.
3. Pull the console forward and up to remove the tabs on the bottom of the end caps, out of the holes in the top.
4. Lift the console up and lay it on its back.
5. Unplug the harness connector for the lid switch.
6. Insert a flat screwdriver into the front edge of the clip (located on both sides), and pry back. Remove both clips from the holes in the cabinet and slide down the other end of the clips and out the slot in the rear panel.
7. Open and hold the lid while grabbing the cabinet front opening. Be sure when tilting the cabinet that the back edge clears the vacuum break.
8. Tilt the top of the cabinet toward you by pulling on the lid and opening of the cabinet. This releases the back slots of the cabinet from the tabs in the back of the base
9. Carefully pull the cabinet away from the base of the washer and set it aside
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

My estate whirlpool washer model# taws800jq1 water wont shut off when you start cycle

See this tubing:

11_10_2011_1_17_20_am.jpg
If this tubing gets sediment in it OR vibrates loose OR gets pinched from re-installing the cabinet OR if the tube gets a hole in it then the pressure won't build up as the water level rises and the water will not shut down. The component that tube is attached to it the water level switch. The likelihood of it being bad is slim. Most of the time sand and sediment gets into the tubing and simply blowing it out and reattaching the the tube to the switch fixes it. Be sure to pump out water after cleaning and re attaching the tube to the water level switch. Service manual and more

The washer only fills halfway up during rinse cycle only, even on high water setting. it fill completely during the wash cycle.

Has it always done this or just recently? Some washers have lower rinse fills then spray the water on the clothes as it goes through its cycle.

Why is it that my washer is not completing the spin cycle,it is still very wet when it stop??

Hello there and welcome to fixya
The clothes are wet after spinning When the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these: Motor coupler
To test the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let the machine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether the tub is spinning:
If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.
If it isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you may have a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. This plastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace it completely.
Spin cycle
If the washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be too wet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properly balanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, you may have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®), or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicable component.
Alternatively, there could be clothes caught between the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump" section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be other things that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.
Siphoning
If the water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machine after the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning the water from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Try to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuck in the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess.
Water-inlet valve
Water-inlet valves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inlet valve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricity is turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when you haven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.

Water continues to drip into the tub even after all cycles have completed. my tub is filling up with water, I have turned off the water to the machine but it continues.

The water inlet valve needs to be replaced. It's not shutting off the water completely. It's located where the water hoses connect to the washer.
