Two probably causes are:
1. Too much oil in the crank case. Compressors don't have a lot of oil in them and the oil level must be at the full mark on the dip stick or sight glass. Over filling it will make the motor work harder and some oil will get forced out the vent cap.
2. You may have compressed air going into the crankcase causing oil to get blown out the vent cap. This occurs if compressed air is getting past the piston, either through a hole in the piston or past the rings because either the rings or cylinder are damaged.

V6 ENGINE LOSING OIL THROUGH FILLER CAP

The obvious answer would be to replace the filler cap. But I would look int why so much pressure is building under the valve cover. A Chilton/Haynes manual should give you some answers under the trouble-shooting heading.

Check your PCV valve. Its the device that provides ventilation to the crankcase and valve covers. If its clogged or non functional it will cause the engine to **** or blow air from an area with less resistance, which is probably the filler cap. As its blowing air out of the engine it will shoot a little bit of oil with it

Left side rollers are releasing excess oil.. getting oil shooting out onto carpet.

On that left side end cap has a liquid wax hose assembly with nozzle on/off switch, this is used to refill the wax bladder underneath the running deck for lubricating the running belt itself. their are 2 screws that hold the end cap you will see the nozzle make sure its turned off make sure hose connections are snug. If any cracks in hose replace accordingly.

No spark when trying to start my 1992 Toyota Celica GT. The engine died while I was driving. It will crank over but won't start.

Remove the distributor cap and see if you see a rust colored dust inside. If so, the the distributor is bad and needs to be replaced. The igniter in the distributor is not working properly

I have a 1.5 hp 3 gallon craftsman air compressor. When I turn it on, oil shoots out of the vents in the oil cap? Why is this? How can I fix it?

hi mate it is probably due to too much oil and when it starts the oil inside is splashed out the oil cap i reccomend start the compressor and let it run for 2 mins to get the oil warm take the plug out and drain the oil and the refill with p68 oil and on the oil sight glass refill it untill it reaches the red dot in the middle if it has one or on the dip stick it has a measurement good luck
