Computer not turning on.

You can name your machine what ever you like I would keep it simple and not include spaces to avoid confusion. The last machine I rebuilt I named after my dog "Ollie".

The signal cable from the video card to the monitor is unplugged.

If the computer doesn't power on what-so-ever, it may be your power ribbon. I have the same issue with my Dell Inspiron 15.

The power ribbon on your motherboard connects to the power button on your laptop which obviously turns on your computer.

That may have been damaged. I suggest taking apart your computer and trying to find out the issue from the inside. (Or, if you don't know how turn it in to a technician.)

check and make sure the installer/installation cd is compatable with your computer os if not then try to run the program in compatability mode

most of the time there is a key although it may be feint directly below the pins for the power button wires showing exactly where they need to go if not you can search for a diagram on the motherboard manufacturers website

I contacted ACER Tech services with this same issue, and they told me that it would need to be repaired. I have found that if you turn off the monitor, depress the far left button and power back on, the OSD doesn't display until you release the button. Not ideal but workable, Especially if your Monitor is out of warrantee like mine.

sound like the computer is either in suspend mode > if this is the case, try holding down the power button for about 8 seconds.
If this doesn't turn it on i would suspect the powersupply. Iwouldn't look at the power button unless it's sticking OR has given you problem previously.
The three volt disc battery keeps your BIOS settings in tact.removing it will reset the bios and bios password if you ever get stuck with a bios password you cant remember.
The power supply can be replaced for about 45 dollars at staples or bestbuy.

I did exactly what the washingmachine repairman told me to do .Pull the plug on the printer shut off the computer than turn everything back on and voila :PROBLEM SOLVED!! Thanks again Klaas W

I don't believe that I told you to unplug the printer but after looking over your first question it seems to me that either the connection under the button is depressed further into the machine than it should or the connection needs to be cleaned. You would have to open the machine to do this and it may be difficult to get to but is worth a try. Why are you unable to leave the printer on constantly? It should turn on by itself if attached to the computer when the computer is turned on.
