SOURCE: Maytag Gemini Electric stove fault code F 1-2 when using the oven(s)

The oven temp sensor has gone bad.  F1-2 would be for the lower oven and F1-1 would mean the upper oven.  If you give me the model # from the sticker on the oven I can direct you to a diagram, part #, and price.  These are very easy to replace.  Should be located inside the oven in the upper right or left hand side.  It looks like a silver rod about 4-8 inches long and crimped on the end.  Most of them can be removed from inside the oven by removing the two screws, pull out the sensor (harness and all) plug in the new sensor, put the screws back in and your done.  Some have to be removed from the back of the oven by removing the lower, larger back panel and follow the same process as mentioned above.  Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My smooth cook top is cracked, can I still use the burners?

using a cracked cooktop is highly dangerous. i have seen these cooktops shatter because of people using them with a crack. One shattered so bad that the glass was found all over the kitchen and the ajoining living room.

SOURCE: Maytag Gemini oven glass door panels impossible to clean

We had an ugly spill of hot grease/water from a roast, and lots of it ran right into the vent holes on our oven door, covering various layers of glass and other parts inside the door. Yuck. Thankfully we found this site!

"fixetheoven" was certainly on the right track, but missed a key step that makes this job much, much easier. (Maybe they had a few too many sips of wine during the process?! :-)

Anyway, the key to make the job easy, and do-able by one person, is to pull the door off the hinges before starting to remove any screws! Here's how we did it:

1. Open the door about four inches or so, it will stay in place. Hold the door at the sides and lift it up, sliding it right off of the hinges! Now lay it carefully face up on a table so you have easy access to the screws, and no danger of the glass dropping out of the bottom of the door (as apparently happened to "fixedtheoven".)
2. Remove the two screws that hold the panel on one side of the door. (One screw is halfway up the side panel, the other is on the bottom edge of the door.)
3. Slide the panel off, paying close attention to how it fits into place so you can return it to its original position later!
4. Remove the two screws that hold the panel on the other side of the door, and slide that panel out as well.
5. Remove the three screws that hold the panel across the bottom edge of the door, and remove that panel.
6. Now you can slide the front glass out from under the top edge of the door.
7. Clean the front glass, the side panels, and the bottom panel, as needed.
8. There will be another layer of glass inside the door. If it needs cleaning on the underside, remove the screws from one of the metal brackets that hold the glass in place. You can then slide this piece of glass out from the metal bracket at the other side.
9. After cleaning everything, reassemble the door by reversing the above steps.
10. Lift the door by the sides and carefully slide it back into place on the hinges. Be sure it is properly in place and being held there before you let go!!
11. Now go pour that glass of wine and sip to your heart's content, while admiring how clean your oven door is!

Hi i have a maytag gemini model # mgr6875adw and the lower oven doesnt heat up the upper will only heat up if we turn the broil on for a couple of minuntes this does not work with the lower oven

Sounds like either the fuse is blown on the back of the oven or the switch to set the oven is pooched.... also you may try just have flipped one side of the 220 breaker in the basement..... look for a pair of dedicated breakers or fuses on the fuse box in your home and see if the two fuses( 110 each to make 220) are working

What is the building code for the distance from the bottom of the microwave to the cooking surface below? I have a Maytag microwave that was manufactured in May 2002 and a Maytag Gemini gas cooking stove.

You can check the owner's manual or installation instructions for what the manufacturer stipulates.

If you don't have them, you can download them here.

For building codes, contact your county or city government offices.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Top of Gemini range

Hello patricialc,
Welcome,

You said, you have the stainless Gemini range and the top is black. I cannot get the top clean. It looks like the paint or the surface is "bubbled". I have tried EVERYTHING and it always looks like there is grease spatters on the top. I have all Maytag appliances and I am VERY disappointed with this stove. If I could, I would take it back...but I keep trying. I let the Maytag stove I had go. It was made in the late '50's, so I could 'update'. What a mistake!!!

The other option is to order a new glass top and have it replaced.
No abrasives!!

Let me know how you do.
Huuum
