I can't because when i turn on the computer with the 2 hard disks connected, the computer immediately turns off so i cant hit del or go to the bios settings because the computer is off.But when i connect the 10gb hard disk i can go to the bios settings it doesn't turn off.

We try to use the warranty to repair the disk. but the technician said it has no error. He suggest that we change the os or format the disk. And in their computer it worked but ours don't work.

What operating system are you using some can only recognize up to 10GB
and is the 80GB fitted correctly
stripe on cable to No1 pin on M/board socket and toward the 4 pin power socket on hard drive

Try resetting BIOS to default then check the 2 hard drives are recognized by the BIOS.if not try entering the CYLS Heads etc for the second one
I still think you could have it connected wrong
The stripe on cable goes to the 4 pin power plug on hard drive.
Sometimes it only connects one way others it can go either way

To reset the BIOS remove M/board battery for 5 minutes.
it is a round shiny object about 20mm across check how it is held in. then replace it
your BIOS should then be set at default
Or when booting at the lower left side of screen should be words similar to this
"to enter bios press DEL F2 or similar key"
When in BIOS read directions carefully to set to default then to set hard drive settings
If this fails to recognize hard drive it is probably bad
If you can try in another computer

The only thing I can suggest is you have somehow connected it wrong
You should have 2 hard drive connectors on M/board
    1) for original hard drive set to Master and CD set to Slave
    2) spare get a new ribbon cable and fit to M/board stripe side to No1 pin then connect cable to 2nd hard drive set to Master and try.
Also if new hard drive is a SATA one unless setup properly it will not work with and IDE one
Sorry cannot help further if I was there could probably fix it

Hi I have a Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache. It runs fine for a bit then it just diconnect itself,so you have to scan for hardware or you have to reboot the system. Is there a fix for...

Test your HDD (Hard Disk Drive): go HERE, click Downloads and download Seagate Seatools for DOS (free). Burn the ISO to a CD, set your 1st boot device = CD drive and reboot with the disk in the drive. When the tester loads, choose the Quick Test in the upper left corner of the screen. It takes 5-10 minutes and will give you a pass or fail. If it tells your that SMART has tripped, or gives a fail notice, your drive is failing. You should have a warranty on that drive with Seagate.
If the drive passes as good, change your data cable. I have seen bad cables cause problems. Also check the power cable.
If you still have problems, enter Administrative Tools\Disk Management. Find your drive, Right click on it, and click "Mark Partition as Active".
If still no joy, try changing the SATA port on the mother board that your drive is plugged in to.
If still no joy, contact Seagate customer help, they are very good.

I would like to get a HDD with more memory.

You can buy 80GB or 160GB, nothing is incompatible with Hard Disk, unless you buy another kind of Hard Disk like a new one SATA or check your Motherboard, it tells there what kind of HDD you put it in. There are two HDD that you can buy in the market one is IDE type & SATA.

there was wrong in the set up of jumper in your 80gb hdd. Look closely to the 80gb harddrive, in between the ide cable terminal and the power supply connector you will see 8pin terminals paired together and a jumper use to short the paired terminals. It is most likely that the jumper was configure to detect your hdd as master. If the ide cable you use for the 80gb hdd was also use for the dvd/cdrom drive then it will conflict with it if both jumper setting was set to master. See the description of jumper settings in the sticker of the hdd. Position the jumper to slave.

Reboot your system again and see if the 80gb finally appear in your system. When system boot upon detection of hdd, the primary master should be 250gb while your primary/secondary slave will be read your 80gb hard disk.

i think you must place a jumper on the back side of the hdd.
If there isn't any jumper, it is a "slave".

When you place a jumper on the correct spot, the hard drive will become the master hdd. The position of the jumper can be found on the hdd itself.

Search for "master" and put the jumper there
