'Close' message on screen

When my screen is switched on there is a 'close' message displayed in the top left hand corner. If I put in a CD/DVD and close the lid the message remains and the disc does not spin. I have tried numerous DVD's and I am confident that I am closing the lid correctly (it's hard to do it wrong!) Please, please help????

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Open message when closed/disc wont spin

I figured it out, it was the little plastic sensor stick that tells the unit that the lid is closed therefore reading the disc. cheap piece of plastic that has surely snapped on many a unit. good luck replacing it. i rigged it though problem solved

1. Open the disc tray and remove any discs
2. Close the disc tray
3. Switch Off Player and Unplug from mains wait minimum 30 seconds - this resets the memory, and RAM of the DVD/BlueRay
4. Make sure your TV is on as usual, and Reconnect to mains
5. Turn on your DVD/Blueray player with remote and wait for the "no disc" message to appear
6. PS! As quickly as possible, using your controller press - ENTER 8 4 2 6 9 ENTER
7. You have been successful when a blue box appears in the top left-hand side of the TV Screen, displaying the message "DVD Region Free"

You may have to attempt the "ENTER 8 4 2 6 9 ENTER" sequence several times before you get the Region Free message if you're not quick enough.

I need to burn dvd with phptos and vidio on the one disk

  • Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Then select "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Windows Explorer."
  • Open the DVD burner tray and insert a blank DVD or CD. Close the tray.
  • Navigate to the hard drive that has the files to be burned. Click on the files or folder to be burned, and drag to the DVD burner drive icon in Windows Explorer.
  • Select "File," then "Write these files to CD." Ensure that all the files that need to be written to the CD or DVD are on the list in the temporary files area that can be found in Windows. The CD writing wizard will open; follow the instructions in the wizard.
  • Remove the CD or DVD when finished and apply label. Close drive tray.
Thanks, SF

I want the code to play Zone 2 DVDs on my DVD which is set for 4

1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
2) Press the Open/Close button to open the tray
3) Press the info button, the firmware version shows up (
4) After the version info disappears, close the tray again by pressing the Open/Close button
5) At this point, it will show "no disc" at the top. Press the Info button again, and this will disappear. If the "no disc" does not disappear then try again by using the REPEAT button
6) Now type the code that applies for your region (R2 is 57538). A '2' will briefly show up at the top left corner
7) Now press 9, and 9 will show up in the top left corner
8) Power off the player, and turn it on again. You'll have a multi region player

I've found the following codes at the 1080P7 hack:
R1 - 29334
R2 - 57538
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462
This worked on my dvd1080p9 R2 DVD player

When browsing page goes very small in top left hand corner

this happen when you shrink the browser page and close it without maximized it.
open the browser page, click and drag the page to the left top corner of the screen (top left corner of the browser page is at the top left corner of the screen).
move the mouse to the right lower corner of the browser (the arrow will change to 4 direction arrow). click, hold and drag the corner to the lower corner of the screen.
close the browser.
the browser page should be full screen when you reopen the page.

Hi there, have a Samsung DVDV6800 purchased in July that wont play all region discs. Can you tell me how to put in the codes for multi zones?

1. Power on your player with no disc in the tray. Wait for message "No Disc" in the top left hand corner of your screen.
2. Press and hold the Repeat button on your remote control for approximately 5 seconds.
3. Enter the code below. (Note that you must know what Region your player is currently set to in order to know which code is appropriate.)
for Region 1 use 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4
for Region 2 use 3, 8, 7, 6 and 7
for Region 3 use 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2
for Region 4 use 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4
for Region 5 use 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4
for Region 6 use 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2
4. The message "No Disc" will now be replaced with the default region number of your player. For example, Australian and N.Z players will display a small "4".
5. Press "9" for multi-region.
6. Open tray and insert your title.
7. Close tray.

The player will continue to hold the changes you have made. If this does work for you the first time, keep repeating steps 2&3 until the players default region number appears. The amount of time holding the repeat button does seem critical.

Compaq presario 700F

definatley the display close power switch, located under switch/speaker not sure if the hinge activates it or not. looked into mine and found part# tag interfering w/ power switch board, cleaned it up, working good now. discovered this by gently pulling top left and pushing lower right of display, it would flicker.thaught it was closed probably a result of closing it with right side after every shut trying to close only from middle..i also try never to pick it up from one corner, plastic is very bendy and screw comes loose.two hands always, specialy where rom is.i think your monitor thinks its closed. while black hold it under bright light and you can see enough to navigate.tried svid, used it for safemode driver check, took several hours before i got to hinge. i hope this is your troubles as they cost nothing to warrenty left 22 days ago.i was sweating.hope this helps.
