Clock / date display disappears after power failure

Hi When we have a power failure the date / clock settings "disappear". I then have to reset the information. This is frustrating and annoying. I assume that there must be some kind of backup battery that needs to be replaced, to prevent this situation. If so, please advise as how to go about fixing the problem. Thanks, Mike

Thanks, but I do not require a solution for a calculator. I have a Targa DRH-5600x dvd recorder (bought at Lidl a few years ago).

(sorry for the resend, but I'm unsure if my previous post went through or not)

    Thank you for your response.

Sorry, but I did not deliberately post my question in the "calculators" area. I, have tried to repost my question in the appropriate area, but to be absolutely truthful, I find the layout of the Fixya website to be 'confusing' and cannot find the correct area.

Would it be possible for you to please redirect my query to the correct area, or please advise my as how to do so?

By the way, the query involves my Targa DRH-5600x DVD / HDD recorder.

    Thank you,
    Mike

In that case you'll probably be more likely to receive a solution if you reposted this question in an area more appropriate than "Calculators." That way experts in that subject will be able to see your question.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any more power to redirect questions than you do. And you're not the only one who finds FixYa confusing.
When you post a question, you should be asked for the product and category.

I have a Clock an OEM #7132. Black with see through body. It has a temp area, but mine is stuck in Celsius and i want Fahrenheit

Be aware that there are several different versions of this clock model all made for Sharper Image. For my OEM 7132 clock, I press the "mode" button until the clock display disappears and only the month, date, and temperature are displayed. Then I press the "minute" button, which toggles between the Celsius and Fahrenheit displays. When I am done, I press the "mode" button again to display the clock.

I had the same problem. Turn the contrast knob on the side of the clock. It is a little dial on the right side of the clock and it turns to the back of the clock and to the front. Magically, all of the other display disappears. I stared at this clock many times before I found this dial which had no apparent function. Turns out, this is the contrast control. Their documentation sucks!!

My atomic clock won't show the outside temperature and I can't get it set for regular time, it only shows military time. How do I fix these two problems?

Hi

If you have lost the outside temperature on the clock display then do the following:-

1. Make sure you have good batteries installed in the remote transmitter
2. Remove the batteries from the main clock and keep them out until the clock display disappears.
3. Re-install the batteries in the clock.
4. Wait until the display returns and includes the outside temperature display as well.
5. Set the clock again for current time/date etc.

I have a Frigidaire Range model PLES389DCC, it's top cooking function well, but display panel PF show, the clock start from 12:00 (after off/on circuit breaker) and kicking. I have order the control panel...

The clock may be set for 12 or 24 hour time of day operation.
The clock has been preset at the factory for 12
hour operation. When the range is first plugged in or when
the power supply to the range has been interrupted, the
timer in the display will flash and PF (power failure) will
appear in the display.
To set the clock:
1. Press Clock . "CLO" will appear in the display.
2. Example for 1:30. Press the numbers 1 3 0 to
set the time of day to 1:30. "CLO" will disappear
after 4 seconds and the clock will start. Or you may
press Start. "CLO" will disappear and the clock will

Can't read the date/time

There may be a simple explanation. Here are two possible reasons this is happening: * You may have disconnected the power source before turning off the power to your camcorder. If you remove the power source from the camcorder while the power is on, all settings and selections will be erased. Make sure to turn the camcorder's power off before disconnecting the power source. * This is particularly an issue for some early VHS-C camcorders – those with model numbers beginning with a "6" and ending with a "2" or "3" (i.e. CC6xx2 … CC6xx3). These camcorders have a consumer-replaceable clock battery that may be exhausted. If that battery runs dead or is removed and the main battery or AC is not connected, the camcorder will lose all its Date and Time settings. * In some models, the date and time display is designed to do this. When you turn on many VHS-C and digital camcorders, the Auto Date mode will display the time and date. When recording begins, the date is recorded on the tape for 5 seconds and then disappears. In the viewfinder, the date will then be replaced with the words AUTO DATE but they will not be recorded. They remain in your viewfinder so that you know this feature is on. On full-size or VHS camcorders, the Auto Date feature is very similar. When you first turn on the camcorder, the date along with the word AUTO and a Clock icon appear in the viewfinder. When recording begins, the date is automatically recorded for 10 seconds and then disappears. In the viewfinder, the Clock icon and the word AUTO remain but they will not be recorded. They remain so that you are aware that this feature is on. When using the Auto Date feature, be aware that the time is only recorded when you first turn on the camcorder and begin a recording session. It does not record each time you press the record button. There are a number of time and date display and recording options. Since these vary by model number, please refer to your owner’s manual for more details.
