Question about Ace Hardware Power Glide Circular Saw with Laser

Open Question

Power glide miter saw just stopped turning on, no power?

Worked fine until this week. I use it occasionally, so its not a problem of overuse. It worked fine just this past month. Then I went to use it and there is no power to the unit, at all! I checked the plug, its fine, every other appliance or tool I've attached to it works. Is there a fuse in the system, I have no operating manual, never had one. I bought it new a couple of years ago, now, no power?

SOURCE: No owners manual. Can't operate

There is no such stepp to operate a circular saw.The only not ready to operate it is the setings of the angle, thickness, width and Guides for cutting.,and none with the electrical system.Becoz when you plug in & switch it will automatically turn the blades absolutely..
GET RID TO THE INPUT VOLTAGE! be careful .are you here in philippines?if that so,we have a 220-240 volts supply of power here.Read the voltage input of the unit written on the body of the unit itself. If it is 100 0r 110 volts then DONOT plug-in and switch it.you need a transformer.

The motor may have failed abruptly. There could be an open thermal overload if your saw is equipped with one buried in the motor windings.

Why miter saw dws780 wont turn on

Have you checked the manual. My Dewalt Dws780 was not turning on, then I checked the manual and able to start it. There was some sort of plug issue with my saw but thankfully it sorted out quickly. I got this saw from this video recommendation.

Adjusting the miter angle involves two cast surfaces sliding against each other. If those surfaces have some irregularities, high spots on the two surfaces will bind against each other. You may have to disassemble the rotating table from the base and do some filing or grinding.

Are you plugged into a GFI receptacle? If so maybe you have to reset the GFI. I would also check for loose wires on the switch or plug and make sure your cord is good.

I have an older model black and decker miter saw. How do you change the blade? I can't seem to stop the motor shaft from turning in order to loosen the nut to remove the blade?

Hi, you need to look thoroughly at the casing of the electric motor. Somewhere between the motor and the gearbox is the brake which must be depressed in order to stop the motor from turning. If for some reason you cannot find this brake, use a pair of vise grips and clamp down on the inside of the blade and turn it until it stops. Now you can unbolt you blade. P.S. make sure you know if the thread is reverse or not! Good luck.

My mitre saw won't power up. I moved it and it worked a few days ago. I have it plugged in. The electrical plug has power (checked with something else) but the saw won't turn on. Is there a reset...

There may be a RED reset button on the motor, It won't push very far, Unplug the saw push the reset and try it again

You may have sustained some damage to the power cord and need to take a look at the internal cord connections
