How do i reset Olympus X940 to factory settings

When I plug the USB cable into my computer it flashes on for a second and then turns off. I'm trying to set the camera back to the factory default in hopes that it might fix the problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

SOURCE: Reset my camera settings

You can reset the camera to the factory default settings by pressing and holding down the two buttons on the top of the camera next to the shutter button. You will hear a short beep and then a long beep once the camera has been reset.

I just spoke to Olympus Tech Support.

You have to download Olympus Master 2. (Their program is no longer called Camedia Master.)

At their main site, search for olympus master 2.

When we turn the printer on the menu window just flashes and we can't see the menu. can't do anything other than print.

Seems as though the menu needs to be reset. Unplug printer and then replug after 20+ seconds. If problem persists, reinstall the print driver from the Device Manager. In Windows 7 you would go to Start, Devices and Printers, right click mouse to reveal drop down menu, select remove device. Now, unplug your printer's USB cable and turn off your computer. Wait the 20+ seconds. Turn on computer. After fully loaded, turn on printer and plug in its USB cable. Computer should conduct "plug & play" search for printer driver and reinstall the printer. Hope this solves your problem.

Olympus Camera

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

To factory reset your tracker:
1.Attach the charging cable to your tracker and plug the other end into a USB port.
2.Press and hold the button for approximately two seconds and without letting go of the button:
3.Remove the charging cable from your tracker.
4.Wait about seven to nine more seconds after removing the charging cable.
5.Let go of the button and hold it down again.
6.After "ALT" and a white screen flash, let go of the button and hold it down again.
7.After you feel a vibration, let go of the button and hold it down again.
After you see "ERROR," let go of the button and hold it down again.
After you see "ERASE," let go of the button. The tracker will turn off.
8.To turn your tracker back on, press the button or attach the charging cable (make sure to plug in the other end of the cable). If the time on your tracker reads 0:00, the reset was successful.
9.Next you'll tell your Fitbit account that you're setting up a new tracker.
10.If you use the Fitbit app, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image) and choose Set Up a Device.
11.Follow the instructions to replace your tracker.

It is asking wrong passcode try again

Unfortunately, if you've forgotten your passcode, the only thing you can do is wipe the phone and restore it to factory settings (instructions below). Once that's done, you will be able to go through set up as if it was a brand new phone, but your apps/photos/contacts etc will be gon.
iPhone Factory Reset Instructions

  • If you haven't already, download and install iTunes on your computer. You can get it here.
  • Turn the phone off by pressing and holding the power button until you see "Slide to power off". Slide to turn the phone off.
  • Launch iTunes on your computer, and plug the USB end of your iPhone sync cable into a USB port on your computer.
  • Make sure your iPhone is turned off, and then press and hold the home button.
  • Continue holding the home button while you connect the other end of your sync cable to your iPhone.
  • After 10 seconds or so, you should get a message in iTunes that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to wipe and reset your iPhone.

Keyboard stopped working

http://www.ascendtech.us/emachines-kb-0705-ps-2-keyboard-black_i_kbdemkb0705bps2.aspx

Things I see here.
1) The second Keyboard you plugged wasn't any good either.

2) The PS/2 port for your keyboard on your motherboard, isn't any good anymore.
Computer off, plug it into the Mouse PS/2 port, and use a USB mouse.
BIOS will reset the I/O address for that PS/2 port, and set it for the Keyboard, when the computer is turned back on.

You may have to;
A) Turn the computer off
B) Unplug from power.

C) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. Let go of the Power On button. Do this same procedure two more times.

What you are doing is draining residual power, clearing CMOS Error Codes, and resetting BIOS back to the factory default settings.

Keyboard plugged in, USB mouse plugged in, plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

Still no?
Motherboard replacement.

You didn't unplug the old Keyboard, WITH the computer on, and plug the new Keyboard in, did you? It isn't a hot-swap device. The computer must be off when unplugging a mouse, or keyboard.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

I found these instructions for resetting the router to the defualt settings:
Use the "Backup Settings" tool to save the Broadband Router's current configuration to a file named "config.bin" on your PC. You can then use the "Restore Settings" tool to restore the saved configuration of the Broadband Router that you set before. Alternately, you can use the "Restore to Factory Defaults" tool to force the Broadband Router to perform reset and restore the original factory settings.
􀁺 Restore Factory Default
To restore the factory default settings of the Broadband Router, click on the "Restore" button.
􀁺 Backup Settings
Press the "Backup Settings" button to save the current setting in a filed "config.bin" or given filename.
􀁺 Restore Settings
To restore the backup file to the Broadband Router, enter the path and filename on the restore settings.

You can find the manual here:
