SOURCE: Kenmore Coldspot Ice Maker Modle #106 56622500 I

these have to be in correctly to lock back in and allow the unit to function. Try removing the bin again and be sure there isn't any small pieces of ice trapped anywhere. Also make sure there aren't any broken pieces from the bin. Hope this helps. Good luck.

SOURCE: water collecting in bottom of freezer

Your seal may be bad letting in moist air that provides a source of water to condense on parts of the freezer.

Kenmore Coldspot/ Acceler-Ice, the ice maker won't work the machine will dispense water for us to drink but not fill up ice- maker could it be the filter and if so where exactly is the filter? Model#...

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

We have Kenmore/Coldspot side by side model 106.44259401 Over the last few days the freezer has 'blizzard' conditons. Frost accumulating on top /sides/packages. Also appears the refridgerator side...

Sounds to me like your defrost heating element is shot. Unplug the refrigerator. Empty out the freezer take the screws off the back panel and remove panel. Defrost the cooling coils with a hair dryer. At the bottom behind the shield you will see a glass tube. Unplug it and bring it to your local app repair shop and let them match it up because making the phone call with your make and model doesnt always work but bring those numbers with you as well. There was some models made with single heating elements that had to work twice as hard to get the defrost job done so they burned out more often. Your repair store will probably have a new dual tube for ya. Hope this helps. Almost forgot..Make a temporary plug with a paper towel and stick it in the water drain just in case you drop a panel screw down the drain(not fun) good luck!

Model 78182891 Coldspot with excessive water Collecting in Refrig

Most likely whats happening is you have a frozen drain for the defrost cycle. here are step by step instrutions for repair:
  • Unplug refrigerator
  • unload food from freezer
  • remove icemaker if present (there are 3 screws remove the one on the bottom and loosen the 2 on top of icemaker then lift it off the 2 screws unplug from wiring harness)
  • remove 2 screws holding rear cover in place
  • move cover to the side or remove from unit altogether
  • defrost any and all ice from bottom of freezer and aluminum drain pan that is now exposed
  • flush drain hole that you will see once ice is cleared with warm water. (sometimes I use a large syringe or turkey baster to forcefully flush hot water thru the drain tube)
  • reassemble in reverse order
Post bak if you have any questions and I'll gladly help you out Thanks Peyton
