SOURCE: Error code SC305 for Photocopier Ricoh Aficio 1224c

Its a charge corona cleaning error. Try turning the power off, wait 10 seconds and turn it back on.

If that doesn't reset it, it could be the pcu, toner collected on the mechanism.

If turning it off and back on isn't fixing it, you should get a technician to look at it to see what the trouble is.

SOURCE: Error code SC305 for copier ricoh aficio 1224c

Hi,
This SC code relates to the charge corona cleaner not working or not working properly. the charge corona is located towards the bottom left of the machine after opening the front cover. It will have a screw you can undo by hand and a cable with an end like a telephone cable plug. toner may have fallen in to the unit or the motor that drives the cleaner along the wires has decided to jam up. remove the charge corona and blow it out with compressed air. You can also remove the end of the unit and check that the motor is not gummed up. Be very careful you do not break the hair thin corona wires! Hope this helps.

moz-screenshot.jpgmoz-screenshot-1.jpgThe problem (s) could be; defective main motor, image transfer belt out of position, belt mark blurred or absent.

A ITB belt inspection and/ or repair would be a job for tech.
Or you could just order a new PCU which would fix the problem.

SOURCE: Please show me how can I unlock the error code

This is a Corona cleaning unit error. You either need to get the issue with the corona cleaning unit fixed or have a service technician turn off the automatic cleaning function. SP Mode 2 801 3 (technican will know what this code means) I can not tell you how to do this as you can total mess up the machine if the service mode is not used properly.
Turning off the cleaning will solve the error code. Technician can clean the coronas himself on service calls so automatic cleaning is not required.
Good Luck

I have a ricoh 1224, and is displaying a 'functional problems' notice. Is there a solution to solve this?

What is the exact error code that you are getting? There should be a code displayed on the screen, starting with "SC" and ending with three numbers. Those three numbers will determine what the exact problem is. Depending on the code, it may be something easily fixable, but if it requires replacement of any parts, you may be out of luck -- the 1224 is an old printer, and it may be difficult to find new parts for it.

What is SC305 Error Message - Ricoh 1232C On

I worked on this same code just the other day for a customer. This SC305 code means the charge corona cleaner is not working properly. The charge corona is located behind the large front door, towards the bottom and just left of center. It has a small thumb screw and a white cord with an end on it like a telephone cord. You can try removing the assembly and blow it out carefully with canned air. Be careful about the very thin hairlike wire in the shell. You can also remove the end of the unit and check that the motor is not gummed up. If it is just put a little light oil on it. Just cycle the power off then on again to reset and try.
Usually once they get repositioned properly they will work fine. Sometimes I have replaced the unit with one from a parts machine.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I am getting SC412 on my Ricoh Aficio 1224C, how do I fix it, and what is it?

sc412 on a 1224 is 2nd transfer (paper transfer) disconnection (+).

The possible causes are:

- The right cover is open
- The transfer roller contact mechanism is broken
- A bad high voltage supply board
- A bad BICU-to-HVSB cable

Parts for the 1224 will be obsolete soon if they are not already, so you're probably better off upgrading to a newer copier if closing that right cover and resetting the machine doesn't fix it.
