Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Rice Cooker Instructions

if cooking rice is your problem. you must first fill your rice cooker with rice and rinse it with water to remove excess starch when your done removing the excess starch you will have to add water for every cup of rice, 1 1/2 cups water or you can try 1:2 ratio (1 cup of rice: 2 cups of water). same goes to any other cuisines. i hope you find my solution helpful.

SOURCE: Hitachi RD6106 10-Cup Rice Cooker

The Hitachi has notches on the inside of the pot. You put your rice in the pot and than start adding water until your water level reaches the notch labeled 7. Remember that the rice has to be inside the pot when you start adding water so that you will have the correct amount of water for the rice you're cooking. It doesn't work the other way around. Rice in pot than add water. But usually the average cup that comes with these rice cookers only holds 3/4 of a cup when you fill them to the top.

Where can I get a free instruction manual?

Hi Sharon.
You don't mention your model number. The manual for their Fuzzy Logic RZ-XMC10Y can be viewed here:
Hitachi RZ XMC10Y Instruction Manual
I also found a manual for the RZBM18Y on a Hitachi Australia Site:
http://www.hitachi.com.au/documents/product/RZBM18Y_manual.pdf

The US site really seems to have bupkus on anything like rice cookers - just electronics and power tools. Hoping that one of those might help, and Happy Holidays!

Answers not helpful. How to convert a japanese manual into English on the RZ-MC10J hitachi rice cooker

Hitachi does not publish an English-language manual for this device. You'll have to find a bilingual person and beg/pay him/her to translate the manual.

I tried searching for the manual online but to no avail. I would personally use an online translator to translate the words.
