How do you take a 5k5m150 apart

Tap drip ring off, punch out pin through planetary. Remove back cover, unclip black wire and white wire from rear control board. Tip it upside down, remove pedestal. Undo 5 screws around where planetary came from, undo the remaining 4 screws on underside of gear case, pull the cases apart.

The mixer won't release the beater

If lightly tapping the beater to get it to compress the spring does not work then you can drive the pin out that holds the beater on.

Once the pin is out you should be able to wiggle the beater and pull it straight off the shaft without having to push it up and rotate it first. If necessary just tap it lightly and it should slide off. Then you can replace the pin and lubricate the shaft with some olive oil or other cooking oil

Trying to fix my KA mixer, and cannot get the planetary housing o

A screwdriver is for turning screws. What you need is a drift pin slightly smaller than the diameter if the pin you are trying to remove. If you can back the shaft up with something heavy like a hammer head and then try to drive the pin out you will be successful. They are pressed in with a light press fit and should yield to the above technique.

The lever on my bathroom mixer tap is getting stiff to lift and may jam up entirely can I fix this?

Easier to buy a new one and replace it. You can pull it apart after shutting the water off by removing the plastic cap (has a small screwdriver groove) beneath it is a phillips head screw, remove it and pull up, remove the retaining nut and pull the assembly apart. You can then take steel wool and polish it and put it back togethere but it will soon do it again.

Took apart, pull magnets from sides, now the thing

ECARRERO2004 - Those 'magnets' you removed from the sides of your mixer are the electric motor brushes that provide power to the commutator/armature assembly so your motor runs. Did you remove the brushes to replace them or were you just inspecting them? I'd suggest removing them again and making sure the contacts are facing in the right direction to contact the commutaor. The concave contact face should be resting completely on the comutator. If you've turned it 90 degrees too much, it wont' seat properly and you'll get no 'juice' to the electric motor so it won't start. I hope this helps - Howard, Burke, VA

How do I get access to the switch on a KitchenAid Classic mixer? I've removed all the needed screws,I think, and nothing comes apart except the silver band and the back plate....

the chrome ring around the rotating head needs tapped off to and drive the pin out of the center shaft of the head. Pry it off to access 5 ring gear screws under the head. The also hold the two halfs of the case together along with the 4 obvious ones.
