Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

1 Answer

Msn e-mail time settings.

The time on my computer and time zone is right, but when I send an e-mail or reply to one it shows that I did this an hour later than I actually sent it. Can you help? Thanks.

    are you using MSN e-mail??

if so, please find out where the MSN e-mail server is. it may be in a different time zone than where you are.

Thanks for all your help on ram chip now here is some thing no one has ans.

Which email service?
Do you have your profile set to reflect the time zone you're in? Unless you told it otherwise, the email service may have defaulted to its default time zone.
Hmmm, five hours. Are you by any chance in the Eastern time zone while the email service defaults to Greenwich?

The clock on my computer reflects the correct time, however when I send emails its showing a different time. I've check the time zone and everything seems to be correct.

Check the time AND the time zone also. In order to do this double click on the time (lower right on the taskbar) and go at the "time zone" tab. Adjust it according to your place and click apply. Correct the time at the "time/date" tab and click apply - ok. Check the results.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, accept my solution.

Thanks and regards

Can recieve e mails, cannot send or reply to in-comming mail.all messages come up as failed delivery.no problem when first connected

1. Change the settings in your email software so that the email account you're using designates an Outgoing Email Service that your internet service provider won't block. Your internet service provider should provide you with the address of an acceptable Outgoing SMTP Mail Server. This information is often listed on their website; if it isn't, call their technical support and ask them the address of their Outgoing Email Server. Then go into your email software and change your current Outgoing SMTP Address to the one your ISP requires.
2. After you designate a SMTP address not restricted by your ISP, you may still receive the following error:
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78
Now you are reaching the Outgoing SMTP Mail Server, but it won't process your request without further authorization. You will need to go into your Email Software and find the setting that indicates that your Outgoing SMTP requires further authorization. Select this setting and enter the username and password required by your ISP (or reqired by who ever is the administrator of the Outgoing SMTP Mail Server that's not blocked by your ISP). For example, at the time this article was written MSN Internet Service's SMTP Address was: (secure.smtp.email.msn.com). However, this email server won't allow you to use it unless you send your MSN username and password along with your request to send email.

Unable to send/rec emails to fellow regular MSN hotmail contact

1. Check if you have an active internet connection
2. Send a test mail yourself and verify you receive the mail
3. sometimes MSN servers may get slowing down... most probably that could be the case... send mail to the other party after an hour
4. Can you send mail to others... I mean other MSN pals, other gmail a/c pals, etc
5. Can you see your friend online on MSN messenger?

TIME IS WRONG ON E- MAILS

Hi teamtropiche,

You probably need to check your time zone settings in Yahoo...

on the upper right-hand corner just above your yahoo mail inbox, you'll see an options link... select mail options.

when you get to that page, click on 'accounts' in the left-hand menu, and once in that page, click on add or edit an account.

in this next page, click on account information, you may be prompted for your password before continuing....

once you get in there... look for 'Time Zone' and see if yours isn't some hours ahead of what it should be.... if so, click on the edit link for that section, and change this to your correct time zone.

that should do the trick!
