Question about KitchenAid Architect II KEMS378SSS Stainless Steel Electric Double Oven
I have just bought a brand new kitchenaid combo oven and microwave model # kems378sss . My problem is that when the microwave gets a the end of his cookingtime*0:00*, it make's the 3 normal beep, the heating stop,** BUT the plate keeps on turning, the light stays open and the fan keeps on workind too. I bought thisoven/microwave in november 2 2011, they have come now 3 times to repair it and cannot find the problem. And now they sent me a new one,and still does the same thing. What can it be or what m i suppose to do? Do you think they have a problem with a part at the factory? Or did ever somebody saw that before?

There is a thermo fuse located behind the back panel of the oven. If the oven appears to be working but is not actually heating then this is the cause. The oven will have to be removed from the wall, power to the oven shut off at the main breaker and the back panel removed. the thermo fuse is just to the left and up from the center of the convection fan. It has 2 wires connected to it.

SOURCE: OVEN will not heat
After reading the above, here is how I fixed my KEBS177DSS9
I pulled out the wall oven from the cabnet. Took off the back tin panel about 10 tin screws. Follow the wire from both heating elements. They are both connected to a thermo fuse. When using the self clean feature this fuse protects the oven from over heating and starting a fire. I put a jumper wire from the hot lead on the left and connected it to the 2 leads on the right side. I turned the power back on and turn the oven on to bake at 350 degrees. Yep It worked like a charm. I bypassed the thermal fuse and used the oven, until the new thermal fuse was ordered. If you have any questions about this fix email me at email@example.com Good luck

I had the same problem on my parents Kitchenaid KEMS378GWH0 oven, the door would only close enough to keep the light on. They propped a chair against it to cook. My father replaced the hinges and it worked for about a week. He noticed that pulling outward on the door at the very bottom edge often allowed it to close enough to use.
After completely dismantling the oven to get access to the brackets that the hinges slide into, we found it was not broken. We decided to expand on the only near solution we had and find a way to make the bottom of the door 'push out'. Our solution was very simple. Remove the small metal plate that covers the door insulation. This revealed that the insulation is a braided hollow rope that is held in by small clips that push through holes in the front of the oven. We threaded some small metal rods about 3/8 inch in diameter into the hollow insulation pushed the clips back in to re-attach the insulation, replaced the metal cover plate.

Does it keep heating food? You do not run it without the fan very long and maybe it will shut off or down when it senses the fan stopped and might stop cooking. You want to isolate it is the fan and not the magnatron (cooking device). It is pretty new for that but always a posibility.
Do you have a straight vent fan that you can turn on without cooking? try that and see what you get. If it does the same, I think you have a defective fan.
