Question about Acer AM5641-B5560A Desktop PC & Monitor BUNDLE
My computer crashed i think it was a hard drive problem am trying to put an ide hard drive a (500 gig western digital) but when i restart the computer i get a blue screen that says windows has detected a problem and has shut down to protect your computer from damage the computer is an acer aspier am5641-b5560 it origanally had windows vistsa on but was upgraded to windows 7 and the hard drive i am trying to install ha xp home on it can someone help me to get this thin running
If I understood you well, the XP OS installed on WD IDE HDD belongs to another computer, in this case you cannot simply install it on your Acer computer and expect it to boot without problems because the hardware is different. What you can do in this case is a fresh Windows installation.

The BIOS is AMI. Under ADVANCED SETUP:
The options listed for 1st,2nd ,3rd Boot device include:
IDE-0 means Pri master ?
IDE-1 means Pri slave ?
IDE-2 means Sec master ?
IDE-3 means Sec slave ?
