Water intake when the water starts to fill the washertank it stops and switches from cold to hot. even when you adjust the slector switch it still doesn't follow what ever the slector switch indicates. also the machine provides for all cold rinse but the washer fills up hot water.

Sounds like a problem with your selector switch , or you ve hooked up your hoses backwards(pretty common issue).new accutemp water temps will indeed turn hot water on even though yuove sselected cold/cold wash. Energy guidelines state that there is an optimimum "cold" temp and if your water is too cold it will turn on the hot water to stablize a warmer "cold".

When set on delicate cold/cold water, it starts to fill with cold but switches to hot water after a few seconds

Sounds like you've got the hoses switched, and the cold water you're feeling is just what is in the hot water lines until the lines get purged. Try filling on the hot setting and see if cold or hot comes out; my guess is you'll get cold water on the hot setting.

Water is not coming in to washing machine when Start knob is pulled. When I disconnect both hoses, water is coming through faucets. Spin cycle is working fine.

ok
Two things control the fill. The fill "solonoids " ,hot and cold, via the temp selector
and the water level switch.Check cold only. If you get cold then your problem is definitely hot solonoid or temp select switch. If you get no water of any temp
then suspect water level switch and or temp select.Water level switch is behind console.Sometimes just turning level knob will get it to work . In any case, remove console and find the large switch with the small tube attached to it. If that tube gets kinked or clogged the machine won't stop filling.Your problem is the opposite. The switch thinks the tub is full. To test the swich, pull start knob.Put a volt meter or simple test light to one side of switch and ground, Then do same test on other side of switch.
There should be voltage available on both sides .If voltage on one side. replace switch. If voltage on no sides, the problem is the timer.(Not likely)Remember ,this test there is live electricity use extreme caution please!

Hope this helps

Water comes into the machine even when it is switched

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I presume you were going to say 'switched off'!
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Turn the cold water tap off overnight and if it stops it's that one. Otherwise do the same with the hot supply tap just to prove it's that! Sorry but whichever it is it needs replacing and a service call ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

When my washer is not in use,it has started slowly filling up with water, even when the electricity is switched off

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
You can also confirm either by feeling if the hot hose is warm in the morning or by turning of one or other of the supply taps to see which one stops the filling with power off.

Sorry but whichever one will need replacing and a service call ;-0(

Hi Steveb6723 ,Just read your posting. Now here is a little test I need you to preform so I can tell if the problem is your water valves or your pressure switch system. Now 1st turn it to a normal cycle and only select the cold fill.Pull the knob out so it starts to fill. Now turn the machine off at the power point,Does the water stop filling straight away?If it does select hot fill and pull the knob. When it starts filling on hot water turn the power off again and see if the water
stops straight away. Please reply and tell me if the hot or cold water continued to flow when the power was off.Looking forward to your reply.

Check to see if there's good water volume coming through the hoses attached to the washing machine. If there is, check to see if the screens inside the water-inlet valve are clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If they're clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you should completely replace the valve.
------------------------
The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

No cold water or no hot water - The fill valve has two coils, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. It is possible that one of the coils can fail and you loose that filling ability. If the cold water coil quits, the hot will still work and during warm fill you will get hot water only and during a cold fill you will get no water at all. Some Maytag washers have a fuse in the fill valve circuit, if this fuse let go the washer will not fill. Fill valves can also from time to time stick open and not stop filling. Water level switch doesn't shut off the water

Water level controls - The water level control is also know as a pressure switch, this is where you set the water level ( small - medium - large ). The water level control is responsible to shut off the power to the fill valve and direct that power to the timer so the washing machine can start up. The WLC has electrical contacts in it that sends power to the fill valve and when the WLC is satisfied the water level is correct the electrical contacts open power to the fill valve and send the power to the timer and the washer starts. Picture of this here. How the water level control knows when it is time to shut the water off is, a air tight hose runs from the outer washer tank to the water level control. As the water fills the outer tank air is pushed up the hose, depending on which setting you have made ( small- medium - large ) is takes a certain amount of this pressure to make the WLC cycle over and shut off the water and send this power to the timer. If this hose develops a leak or a pin hole the washer can over fill as the WLC may not be able to shut the water off. The water level control can also break down and allow the washer to over fill as well.

A couple of tips from readers (Thankx!! ):
~ If you have a loose hose on the water level control or tank end, use a plastic wire tie to help hold the hose tighter and make a tight fit.
~ The water level tube (tube that runs from the square box), access panel on the outer drum where the bleach tube also ends) from the pressure sensor switch (front panel) can become clogged.  Or the two holes from the outer tub into this square box panel on the outside of the outer tub can become clogged. Either clog, I am told by my help repair guy can cause the sensor to think that there is still too much water in the tub and so will not allow motor to activate spin.
~ If the water level control contact is bad, it may also stop the filling ok, but not tell the washer to start agitating.
