You gave no model number or other detail. There are MANY possible causes. Fuse, safety switch, power supply, magnetron, control board. Check the fuse first. There is DANGER working on any device like this, and certain skills necessary. That's why they pay us the big bucks, NOT. The magnetron (the part that heats the food) may be bad or the circuitry to the magnetron may have burned out. Basically my advice is that if you have no electrical expertise, it isn't worth fixing. The magnetron if bad, costs almost as much as a new microwave. If you open it up (make sure it has been unplugged for a few hours and don't seen any obvious burnt parts, then most likely the magnetron is done and a new microwave is the way to go.

likely the magnetron is gone. check your warranty on this part with you book. otherwise it is a costly repair.

This sounds like either a thermistor or a damper switch/motor problem.
Amana's technical support line is 866-426-2621. This is the commercial side but they should be able to get you in touch with the domestic side.

Hold down the "START" button for 5 seconds.

press Reset, then enter in the time of day (e.g. 0807 for 8:07 am or pm doesn't matter), then press Clock button twice. hope this helps.

This model does not list Stainless Steel as a feature. Stainless Steel is used in the interior (CAVITY) of a Microwave if it is a Combination Convection/Microwave Oven. The Convection Oven can reach temperatures of 400+ degreesF. This Temperature would MELT the paint off a painted interior.
Stainless Steel can be tested with a Magnet. It will not be attracted or "Stick" to Stainless.
