MD 1000 Ativa shredder no manual attached to tell me what lights mean-suddendly red light on and will not shredd

No manual so don't know why suddenly while shredding a light bulb red light went on and stopped shredding.

Read ITS RATING or remove it and buy from electronics shop.

SOURCE: Ativa X1000 paper shredder that doesn't turn on

took the shredder section apart, cleaned out the gears of paper and a broken mount (plastic piece), and hand turned the electric motor to free it up. After assembly, the ready light works and so does the FWD/REV directions for shredding.

The RUN green light is on but no motor is operating for any function of the Ativa DQ 83Mn Shredder. What can be inop?

Small Shredders like these are not continuous duty machines.Meaning they are use for very very short time intervals. If it's "heating" up right away, the motor may be going bad. Shouldn't take 15 minutes to cool down after a short use period.
Here's a suggestion: Just before you run paper thru it next time, squirt some oil all the way across the cutting blades. Then run the paper. (Oh, and make sure you have some shredded paper in the basket to catch and absorb the excess oil) Good luck.

I have a Ativa MD 1000 that I just bought. It ran for a few minutes the first time I used it an then stopped. I turned it off and unplugged it in case it had overheated. The temperature light did not come on. I wait for over 30 minutes and tried using it again. I was able to shred a couple of sheets of paper and it stopped again. The next morning I couldn't get it to work at all. The green ready light is on but the shredder will not start. I can't tell if anything is stuck in it. How do I getting running?

My Ativa shredder has a red light on. It is the indicator that is a picture of the door with a circle on it. I can reverse but not shred. Any suggestions?

The graphic is telling you that the waste bin is not fully located. Remove it, empty it and push it fully back in.

What is the red light next to the green power light? It appears to look like a temperature light. My unit won't run.
In most cases it means the shredder is full or something is jammed. Empty the shredding container. If the machine has a "reverse" position on its switch, try running it backwards to get whatever is jamming the teeth to come back out.

Ativa shredder manual
I could not find a manual or support on Ativa website but I searched their FAQ. It said that the shredder basket must be fully closed and integrated with the shredder. I had the same problem. I pushed the basket firmly into place and it stopped. I believe this flashing scheme may be telling you that the shredder and basket aren't properly aligned.

Just purchased ativa MD 460C and it will not work. misaligned is highlighted. can u help solve problem?
The misalignment message is about the catch bin and the shredder! NOT THE TEETH!
Check to make sure the shredder is properly placed on the catch bin. There is a built in safetymechanism in the Ativa MD460. When the shredder is replaced "backwards" the safety pin is not tripped.
Look for a curve in the lip on the back of the shredder and align it with the bin. Worse case, just pick up the heavy shredder top, turn the unit around 180 degrees and put back down. My light came onimmediately.

SB-97Cs Full red light stays on
You can order from Fellowes or a dealer like myself. Maybe the unit is all jammed up with shreds in the housing. Try taking the top off and cleaning it throughly. Be careful with the short ribbon cabl.
