I have currently bought two XBox 360's and both have given me nothing but problems. First system that I bought would only play video games for about an hour and a half and then over heat. Now my second XBox 360 is not reading my games. It says that my system is not able to read the games because they are unreadable games. The funny part is that i just bought the video game and it wont play it or my older games. What can I do to get this fixed without costing me money. I forked too much money over to microsoft already and am not paying for a third XBox 360. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I recommend clearing your system cache. To do this go to My Xbox > System Settings > Memory, highlight your storage disk, press Y and select "clear cache." Try to run the disk again. If the Xbox is still failing to properly read the disk I suggest bringing it to a gaming store near you and have them put a new drive in it. This is most definitely a hardware error, and has nothing to do with your disks.
The Xbox 360 is backwards compatible with certain games that were released for the original Xbox. Currently there are more than 200 BC titles with more being added all the time. Big name titles such as Halo, Halo 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Ninja Gaiden Black are just some of the Xbox games you can play on Xbox 360
There is a requirement for backwards compatibility and that is you have to have a hard drive for your Xbox 360. If you bought a Core system you can't play original Xbox games on your system until you buy a hard drive
its is a software problem in the system and needs to be updated as the syytem can from time to time become corrupt and will not read game discs best thing is to check the microsoft xbox site for any updates for the software to solve this problem or send in for repair if unable to update
Erm, the clue is in the name guys. ORIGINAL XBOX plays ORIGINAL XBOX games. The XBOX 360 plays games designed for the XBOX 360 plus an array of ORIGINAL games. The original console will NOT play 360 games.
ive got the problem to on some games eg. assassins creed just bought it, it keeps saying read disc error its not the disc its the xbox itself im gunna try and take it bk now.
p.s.the problem is with the memory unit on top.
