SOURCE: just got a tomtom xl

Hi, go through the menu options until you come across a symbol with 3 flags, when in this menu option you should then be able to change back to american, a bit hit and miss I know but try looking at user guide on the support option at http://www.tomtom.com/, or go to shop and use menu on another tomtom to follow on yours to get to right option.

Reattach the device or reinstall the battery and power up the device. If issues persist, reload the software for the device. For handheld devices, do a full wipe of the device and return it to factory specifications. For add-on devices to a computer or computer system, uninstall the device and reinstall the drivers. If reloading, registering or calibrating the device does not work, consult the manufacturer for possible warranty replacement options.

When i am putting tom tom on it gets to the screen where it says this device belongs to, i touch the continue button but it will not go to the next screen.


Your unit has a faulty digitizer/touchscreen. You will need to call tomtom customer service at 866.486.6866 to get an RMA set up to have your device repaired. Tomtom's do not have onboard calibration for the touchscreen either.

Does not work on the edges, can not access start by touching. when the screen is touched the arrow appears about half an inch away


Sounds like the calibration for the touchscreen needs to be reset. If you check in the control panel, there should be a ELO shortcut that allows you to calibrate/test the touchscreen. Try running through the calibration and see if the touchscreen behavior improves. If the calibration doesn't fix it, then you may have an issue with the touchscreen itself.

My tomtom xl 335. se special edition does not take a charge. I had it on the car charger for 3 hours. Bill

use the usb cable provided with your tomtom and hook it to your computer for a few hours...that is the preferred way to charge a tomtom, then the car charger will keep a trickle charge on it.

Samsung d980 touchscreen is not working what can I do?


My name is Jon i work on repairing phones all day everyday and see this problem every so often with full touch screen models. When the touch stops working it could be one of two problems generally. Either the "Digitizer" of the phone is damaged wich is the part of the screen you touch that is infront of your actual screen, this is generally not too hard of a fix to do. Or the problem is that the calibration could be off? If the touch works but just isnt accurate try to get into the options or settings menu and do the calibration setting. This will make the phone register on the screen where it is suppose to.
