Zenith Z56Z98D8 rear projection......HELP!!!

Hello there. Just found this site and decided to ask for someassistance. I saw your reply to a different person who seemed to have similar problems and thought you may be able to help me. I have a Zenith Z56Z95D8.Recently, the picture went black...still had sound just no picture. Wastold to replace the HV module board(part# 9-1674-03). As soon as I didthis, the tv worked fine for a couple weeks. Now, to start tv I need tohold in the power button for it to turn on. When it comes on there is adistinctive electric "clicking-popping" sound being made and thepicture has a "electrical interference" at the same time as the sound.I can definitely trace the sound to the part where the HV module wireplugs into the bottom of what I would call a splitter block. There are(3) additional wires that go from this "splitter block" to each of theCRT's. The id sticker for this part is # A-17813-01. Is this theculprit part? What is this part called? Where to get a replacementcheap? I replaced the same High Voltage Module(9-1674-03) approx (3) years ago and had no problems until the picture went out again, so I just ordered and installed a new one. Would a bad "splitter" be causing the high voltage board to go bad? I'm no electronics guru but I can replace parts, just no good a electrical troubleshooting. Thanks Alot for any assistance, don't have $$$$ for a new tv.

p.s. what is the difference between a flyback transformer and a high voltage splitter?

Hey again... Thanks for the quick reply!!! Just a couple more questions.... Is a "bleeder assembly" the same as a "HV splitter"? Would the part# for this bleeder assembly be A-17813-01? Is part # A-17196-03 a bleeder assembly a substitute bleeder part or something totally different? How comfortable % wise are you that this is my problem? Unless I'm an idiot, the noise I hear is coming from this particular part. Sorry for the additional questions, it's not that I don't appreciate or trust your expertise, cause god knows it's WAY WAY more than what I have, I just want to be as sure as possible before spending $$$.
    Thanks again, greatly appreciate it!!
    Steve

A-17196-03 is the part number for another Bleeder assembly but isnt listed as a replacement for your model, although it may work without any problems as it fits some models with the same chassis as yours. I couldnt swear that the bleeder is causing the problem without diagnosing the set in person, However if your hearing any noises from the bleeder thats not a normal situation so it maybe defective. Yes the bleeder is very simallar to a HV splitter they basically do the same job.

I have a blue haze across the bottom of the tv screen. About 1 1/2 inches tall. what causes this?

Go to the Zenith repair site. This has been resolved in a lawsuit. Zenith will fix it free of charge through 7/1/2010. The shop just picked my up to replace the light engine free of charge. Call 1-800-228-1757, have your model number and serial number, and where you purchased it. Here's the neat thing-the question I asked is "have they fixed the problem with the light engine, or is it going to keep going bad?" If happens again (blue lines/spots) before 7/1/2010, they'll replace the TV with a new and different TV of equal value!

ZENITH D52WLCD

I just found the solution on another model of Zenith TV. Hold the enter button down on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote. In approx. 5-7 seconds a screen will pop up asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Hit the bullseye button in the middle of the arrows and it will reset. Worked perfectly.
