Do you have dial up? I'm pretty sure com port2 is your modem. You would hit "logo & pause" at the same time to pull up system properties/ hardware/ device manager. There you'll find your modem/ network adapter. Right click on yours/ update driver. If it doesn't find the right driver go to driver.com. This is a easy way to get them. Try not to do the searches for drivers in your system as they are full of 3rd. party garbage, if not viruses. You will have to enter the name you should find on your card/modem and it will give you the right driver.
If this doesn't work it is possible that your modem/ethernet card is bad and needs to be replaced.

This a USB scanner and it supports the following OS's: Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional / Microsoft® XP (32 bit/64 bit) / Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 (32 bit/64 bit) / Microsoft® Windows Vista™ (32 bit/64 bit). IF, the usb cable is connected in the front usb connectors go ahead and plug it in the back usb ports since sometimes the front usb ports are either to slow or not connected. Additional, after pluging the the scanner on the back usb ports restart your computer and then proceed reinstalling the drivers for it.

Usb ports no communication with compurter but supplies power. what is wrong ?

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click System
Click Hardware
Click Device Manager

Does the 'USB' branch of the tree show the USB ports?
Is there an 'Unknown Devices' branch of the tree?

Either way, the software "device-drivers" for the USB ports are not installed, or not installed correctly, and so you'll get the symptoms that you've observed -- power without device-recognition.

Access http://support.dell.com and click "Detect My Computer", and download and install the device-drivers for the USB ports.

My computer cannot detect usb my computer model is 6bxa-61 samsung

You were saying that your computer could not detect any USB devices? Or just one USB device? Alright, you need to isolate the problem, follow the steps below:

1. Use at least 3 USB devices and connect them one at a time to the USB ports of your computer. If the first USB device is not detected, mark the USB port on your computer with "X" mark.

2. Now, connect the same USB device to another USB port of the computer. If you get the same problem, use the second USB device and connect it to the computer. If all 3 USB devices are getting the same problem connecting in all the USB ports of the computer (either on the front or on the back of the computer), then you need to update or re-install the USB driver to your computer.

3. Contact the manufacturer if the computer or the board and see if they could provide a USB driver for *********** board. Tell them what operating system (OS) you are currently running.

Have a great day!

Need drivers for nikkai usb to serial converter rs232

I purchased the Nikkai USB to RS232 adapter from Maplin and could not get the device working. (Maplin staff not much help!) The lead uses the Prolific PL-2303 device but Prolific do not supply the drivers to end users.
However I found the drivers that appear to work at:

http://www.cooldrives.com/wividrforprc.html

This then recognises the lead as a COM port. So far everything seems to work OK.
(Null modem check and basic 9600 data transfer.)

I hope that helps everybody.

Installing hp pos pole display

Download the HP Pole Display Windows OPOS package (sp42198) which will install both the Windows drivers for the device and the OPOS drivers for the device.
The following is the Windows Device Manager screenshot after all the drivers are loaded for the HP USB Pole Display:

NOTE : The COM port number might be different on customer's unit.

Note: The pole display driver will automatically assign the next available virtual port in the system.

HP Pole Display Setup Software Utility

Download sp41532 - HP USB Line Display Configuration Utility from HP website.
Run the file and the Utility will come up as shown below
The COM Port would always be COM1.

Change the selection to the COM port listed in the Device Manager of the unit.

Click on the Welcome Message Tab and Change the Text and Click on “Write to Pole Display
