I used to sell Skagen watches, don't know excatly which watch you have . I even went to their web site and couldn't find it. Most Skagens ( unless they are a chronograph with the three curcles on the dial) works like this: Your watch stem has 3 differant settings #1 all the way in #2 half way out , and #3 all the way out . To set the time you pull the stem all the way out and adjust the time. To set the date, pull the stem all the way out and turn untill the date changes ( this will make sure you have it on am-pm correctly) then put the hands at 6 o'clock. Put the stem all the way back in, then pull the stem half-way out. Start with the stem all the way in and slowly pull it out and you will feel the "click" when it is half-way out. MAKE SURE YOU HANDS ARE NOT BETWEEN 9 O'CLOCK AND 3 O'CLOCK, OR YOU WILL BREAK THE AUTOMATC DATE SETTING GEAR!!!!! Then either turn the stem clock-wise , or counter clock-wise , one of the two ways will set your date.

Broken glass and new strap

Hi Chris,

Skagen watches have very thin domed crystals and they do break. Because of how thin they are it doesn't take a lot of pressure to break the crystal.

Crystals are not something any watch company covers in their warranty.

The crystal can be replaced. Either Skagen can replace them or a qualified watchmaker can. Prices vary and it would depend on how much you are willing to spend as to if it was worth it to you.

I have a Skagen that i cannot figure out how to set the time on. it has 4 different buttons and looks like it is designed to tell time in a variety of places.

You can get instructions for your watch by going to the skagen web site "skagen.com", choose your area.

At the bottom of the page you will see a number of menu options, click on "customer care" and then on "instructions" (under the heading "warranties").

There will then be a set of instructions for all their watches and you can choose the one that is similar to yours.

HOW TO CHANGE DATE

The Skagen watches have  two-step stem; fully pulled out will change the time and partially pulled out will change the date (only goes one way so try turning it counter-clockwise or clockwise - I forget which is correct).  It's easier to find the date length by extending it all the way and then go back toward the case.  It won't change the date if you run it through a 24-hour cycle - you have to do the half-way thing.  Hope this helps.
