You posted the same question.. before.. I just gave you a couple of suggestions. .so here they are again:

1. do a manual windows update through ms update website.
2. try to look for the sound drivers for your system in averatec's website: http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp

bonus: if you had the driver updated, rebooted the computer and that's how you ended up with no sound.. you can do a driver rollback by going into the sound device properties and in the driver tab do a rollback driver, hopefully that will get the previous driver back into your system.

I cannot get sound from the internal speakers

hey, try this if u have windows pc

Control Panel - Device Manager - SOUNDS - look for HD Audio - Mine says RealTek High
Definition Audio (that is an example and yours may have an entirely different name/maker).

Write down description make and model - double click on it - drivers tab - write down version.
Now Click UPdate Drivers which may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers.
Then RIGHT CLICK on it and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this will rebuild the driver stack.

1st go to system maker's site and look for latest driver Download - SAVE - go to right click on
and RUN AS ADMIN (This is your fallback.) REBOOT after each driver installation.

NOTE : Sound drivers often rollback so check the version after installation and the
reboot to see if the version you installed is there, if not repeat the install - reboot
until it is. It can take several tries depending on how many rollbacks it does.

I just replaced my old CD Writer/DVD player with the NEC ND-3500A . My old drive played DVD movies with video and sound fine but I get no sound out of the new one. I connected the included audio cable...

You need a driver for the soundcard that is in this PC (onboard audio?) Sometimes the setup will think it has the right card, and loads drivers, but it won't work. You need to look at the Motherboard if you have onboard and you should see VIA or some other chip pretty far away from the processor. The most common onboard audio is AC97, but a lot use CMedia and the drivers are not interchangeable. One way to try this is to go into device manager, hardware, and double click in Audio devices and find the soundcard. Right click, select properties, and hit uninstall. Then click scan and see what happens when it puts it back in. Remember to always reboot and you might get some sound. It sounds really lame, but when you put a new driver in a lot of Windows PCs will mute all sound and you have to go to Volume Control to get rid of it. I hope these ideas give you some things to try.

No audio output device is installed on hp pavillion dv6000

First go online go to HP site and go driver download and puch in the the Product no of your PC it will bring up the entire list of drivers for your PC. Now you need to do a BIOS update than restart the PC. it should work fine and the pop up should not come anymore.

D610 Dell Latitude no sound

Hi,
try this>
start menu > control panel > sound speech and audio devices > sounds and audio devices > audio > check here is the default device selected for playback the right device if wrong correct it and reboot, if it doesn't work

try this thing go to device manager using following instructions
start>run> type in without quotes 'devmgmt.msc' > sound and game controllers
uninstall the all the drivers from it by right clicking and use the uninstall option
now reboot the system and reinstall all the sound drivers

please also check the mute option on the speaker present on the taskbat in bottom right usually

if this also doesn't work then
what we can do is do system restore to go back to a date when the sound was working but system restore will lead to loss of all the settings and programs that were installed after the date we restore it to.

to use system restore
here is a helpfull link
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084

Further queries are welcome
and if you find my solution helpfull please do rate me

and then reboot the system

Hey

You should restore your computer to a date when everything was working fine.

To do the same Click start>All Programs>Accessories>system Tools>System Restore

Select restore my computer to an earlier date> Click Next

Select a date when it was working fine and restore it.

Note: All software changes made after the selected date will be undone as well. For Ex. If you installed a new software or game,,,

I am sure this will work for you.

Please rate the solution.

All the best
Sammy

Sound missing

Right click on My Computer.
Click Manage
In the left pane, click Device Manager
In the right pane, expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
Does your device show up there?
Are there any unknown devices?

Try entering your laptop model into this, and downloading the audio drivers. Double click to run or use HP's automatic install.

Good luck!

Sometimes my audio driver stops responding

Try this test: try repeating the "disconnecting all hardwares like DVDRW,HDD,RAMs,AGP card along with the power cables and then again re-assembled, the sound returns (this time its crystal clear) and this works for few weeks after which the problem occurs again.". Now ensure Windows restore feature is enabled. Then when "problem occurs again", revert the Windows registry back to the date when "its crystal clear". If the sound is crystal clear after restore, then you have a software or registry issue going on. If you don't mind reverting to system restore often, then stay in this recovery mode until your real problem is "crystal clear".
