Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: forget BIOS Password (Laptop - IBM Thinkpad Lenovo R60)

For that you need to reset factory defaults settings for bios.
For reset bios u have to open back side of your laptop then u find motherbord circuit there.
pull cmos cell on motherbord for 15 minute then it reset to defaults.
Also u can reset with jumper settigns read carefully on mother bord there is 1 jumper near cmos cell u read there " bios reset or clear"
It is on 1-2 position right now set it in 2-3 position then power up then all bios settings are reset.
then again set it in 1-2 its original position.

SOURCE: Cant remove my bios password on my IBM Thinkpad A21m

You can only remove the BIOS password by using the correct password to get into the BIOS. The BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip and there are no backdoor passwords avilable and removing the BIOS battery will not bypass/remove the password.
IBM/Lenovo support states only a replacement motherboard will solve this problem.

There is nothing you can do yourself. Send or take the machine to a Toshiba Service Center to have the password erased. You may have to prove ownership, and maybe to pay for the service.

Pasword on bootup

This is a bios lock password, designed to prevent theft or data theft if the laptop is stolen. Did you attempt to replace the Bios battery? Usually, this causes the machine to request a Bios pass and this can only be done (unless you want to spend an eternity using a bios cracking software utility) by an IBM service technician who will need to reset the bios password for you.

Even if you managed to crack the bios pass, the hard drive is usually locked in a similar fashion

If however it is an OS pass you can download a utility such as Ophcrack, burn it to Cd and boot from it to unlock the OS password (using another computer to do so of course). I'm giving this latter advice on the assumption that you DO own the laptop.

Cant remove my bios password on my IBM Thinkpad A21m

Dear Sir,

Getting around the Laptop BIOS password is tricker then the desktop...I don't know if your system would go passed POST or either case, there are few software out there that would allow you to clear the bios.....but you need to do some reading first...

Check out this site: search for this section "Password cracking software" , you will find four software which may help you out (please note that you have to be registered user in order to download the software.

I set the power on password on my ibm 600e and now cant turn it off. How do I do that

go to go to support page, download the service manual of your model first, it will show you how to reset your bios password or remove your bios passord, usually remove the bios password, it is your CMOS battery (look like a calculator battery) unplug it, and put it back on again, your bios password should disappear. make sure remove the battery first.
