Question about Zanussi WJS1265W Front Load Washer/Dryer

Open Question

Zanussi washer dryer WJS1665W

I've had this machine for over 10 years with no major problem except the panel behind the buttons replaced after 2 years. The last 6 months it has had a mind of its own 2 out of 3 uses with when it will stop in the middle of a programme so I had to start the programme again. Its worst on the wool/hand wash programs. Yesterday it decided to go through a full cycle skipping something in the programme as it had spun and finished but had left the suds and therefore hadn't rinsed. Any ideas?? thanks

SOURCE: e10 error code

The E10 error code means - not filling water. The problem could be because of clogged filters on the water inlet line or a malfunction inlet valve.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

SOURCE: Zanussi ZWD1680W Front Load All-in-One... Problem:

With the symptoms you describe i would suspect a intermittent heater element fault as you are getting earth leakage current which is tripping the whole supply rather than a current overload which would just trip the socket circuit breaker. Get the heating element checked over first as this is the most likely cause.

SOURCE: Zunussi zwf1437w Keeps stopping during programmes

This sounds like a drainage problem. First thing is to check the filter behind the flap on front of machine.
Please post back your findings for further assistance.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

Norcold 3163 Fridge

There is a 3 amp.fuse in the wiring behind the control panel or somewhere between the control panel and the terminal block. If the fuse is blown do not replace with any higher amperage rating more than 3 amps. Here is a Norcold 3163 Service Manual On page 10 of the service manual shows all of the components that the ac power goes through. Let me know what you find and I will be here to answer any questions you may have, Thanks Sea Breeze

These are actually the bulbs that have went bad. It would be quite expensive. I have a 2004 that has done the same thing. No lights behind any buttons any more except the ac heater controls I replaced last year.

I have a zanussi washer dryer zwd12270w and the lights just keep flashing and does nothing else

I would first check your line voltage to make sure its correct. Next I would try unplugging it for 10 minutes. If thats doesnt work I would then look at replacing the control board.

Dishwasher leaves behind gritty residue i am not sure of what to try...

We have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, 10 years old, never any problems until 2 weeks ago, then we started noticing a gritty subtance on the dishes and glassware. We're on well service, psi 40-60. water hardness is 6 grains. small trace of sulphur, and we have a Mermaid sulphur system, then a complete house carbon filter, and finally a Culligan water softner. Checked everything, Water temp. at kitchen was 120, all cycles on dishwasher were operating. Called in repair service, he says something is breaking down in the dishwasher, best to buy a new one. That'll be $150.00. Thank you very much. Tried the white vinegar, no change. Next bought 2 bottles of Dishwaser Magic. Slight improvement. Next bought 1 bottle of Finish Dishwasher Cleaner. Bingo. The thing is like brand new. even the trays slide in/out much easier. None of the dishsoaps contain phosphate, which is what helps disolve the minerals in the water. I'm not sure what the gritty stuff is, maybe the buildup over time, and it just keeps getting redistributed through the wash and rinse cycles, and finally baked on in the dry cycle. According to a tech with many years repairing appliances, the majority of their calls are for dishwasher poor performance, all because they removed the one compound that's been cleaning our dishes for years, Phosphate. We've always used Cascade gel soap. best on the market today, Finish Quantum. We tried it and dishes look terrific. It's a small tablet that fits in the soap dispenser. All Mfg's. today recommend that you run a dishwasher cleaner once a year, Experienced tech recommends every 3 months maybe more if you're on hard water. Good luck.

I have a 10 year old Performa washer and dryer set. I was wonder what the life span is for this model. The dryer has been fixed once. I have a chance to trade for a 5 year old smaller set of another brand...

Washer dryers almost never last more than six years. Many don't even last two years without needing a major repair unless lightly used; they are convenient but are vastly more unreliable than separate machines simply due to the added complexity of having two machines doing completely different jobs in one casing. The major household appliance manufacturer I used to work for is a German brand with a high quality reputation, but even they only design for a five year maximum lifespan.

Yours has done exceptionally well and a five year old model is going to be a real gamble. I'd suggest keeping yours as long as you can and saving towards a new, ex-display, B grade or factory refurbished model. Ex-display are unboxed stock which may have minor cosmetic damage and is usually sold as seen; don't buy them unless the retailer promise they work and that there's at least a one year warranty included. B grades are perfectly good with a full warranty but which left the factory with significant cosmetic damage such as major scratches or obvious casing dents; factory refurbs are items which failed soon after sale for some reason and were exchanged, the failed item has then been repaired and tested and usually has either a full manufacturer's warranty or a six month warranty if the manufacturer sold it to the trade as faulty stock to be repaired and resold by another company.
