SOURCE: My star trac Polar elliptical

  1. Since the device is self-powered, begin striding to charge the device first, and then attempt to turn the device on. The display is powered automatically while striding. If you have an external battery pack connected, it may need to be charged or may have become damaged.
  2. Check the cables at the neck assembly to ensure they are properly connected and not damaged. Unplug and plug them back in to the board. They are located under the MCB Cover:

If the cables are connected correctly, you may have a faulty electronic control board, faulty charging circuit, etc.

I recommend contacting Star Trac customer support here: 1-800-503-1221
They will be able to provide replacement parts, if needed, for your Star Trac Trainer.

Check it out. If you machine monitor shows and e-1 when trying to turn on. Take out the batteries and unscrew the four screws on the bottom of the monitor unplug it from the elliptical. Put the batteries back in turn on monitor the plug it back to the elliptical while still on and screw back in places. It worked for me hope it works for you too.

My elliptical trainer is starting to squeak. What should I do?

Don't worry; this is a common problem in elliptical trainers. Over time, parts of the machine may start to squeak. I am going to attach a how-to guide that will explain what to do when this happens.

I know that elliptical trainers are a good cardio workout but do they allow you to work your upper body?

Most elliptical trainers nowadays come with moveable arm handles. This gives you more upper body endurance and allows you to burn more calories.

I have an efx 546i and when I try to use the incline the panel states: No ramp, low battery

The ramp system has a battery monitoring system. If the battery voltage falls below 11 Vdc when the ramp movement is initiated or the battery voltage falls below 10 Vdc after ramp movement has been initiated, ramp movement will be stopped and gives that error message. The ramp will not be enabled until such time as the battery voltage exceeds the above limits. The battery voltage must be raised to be to correct this problem either by charging or replacing the battery.
